Tomaso wasn't a drinking man.

He wasn't a clubber.

He was a scholar, a man of education!

And yet he was here. At a bar in the center of Catania at midnight.

"Un altro ... per favore." He mumbled. It was only his third shot, along with a bourbon. But the man was light weight and all ready starting to feel the toll of the drinks.

The poor man looked rather miserable. It was clear he was there to try and drown away some demons in his life.

His stubble had turned to a short beard and his hair was tussled.

He hardly looked like an educated man in this moment.

[Jason will be speaking Italian, unless stated otherwise.]

If it wasn't for the music and the chit-chat and drunken blabbering, you would of heard Jason's heels click as h entered the bar.

He smiled, ranging fro friendly to flirtatious to the few regulars in the bar, some of them nudging in his general direction. He wasn't new to this bar. Rather, he was a regular. Like most regulars, you get to know other regulars - sometimes more then they originally intended. Because of this, he had became rather infamous at this local bar.

It wasn't the local humans that caught his attention tonight. Instead it was the new, maybe slightly drunken, fella that did. It was rare to get others of the supernatural here.

And he was all on his own too. Could be seen as a bonus.

Leaning against the counter of the bar, next to the Lycan he quickly ordered his drink. Just a simple vodka and lemonade to keep him occupied.

"Hey. Been here before?"

[Tom is also speaking Italian unless otherwase stated. ^_^ ]

Tom glanced up to see a woman had sat beside him. A very pretty woman at that. Her smooth, dark skin reminded him of someone, the reason he was here.

He shook his head no in response to her question.

He was feeling so tipsy that at first he hadn't noticed... she wasn't human.

It hit him all at once, and it showed on his face. He was talking to another like himself!

That was probably why she was talking to him.

"Not much of a talker then?"

Maybe he was more drunk then he originally thought? Or may he was mute? Who knew, who cares. All he was interested in was how good they looked with a stubble.

Raising a groomed eyebrow in amusement at the (surprised maybe?) look on on the Lycan's face. He took a sip from his drink.

"Do you have a name?"

"T-Tom." He stuttered. How, he was more drunk then even he realized. He downed the last shot and wrinkled his nose at the burn.

Disgusting stuff. He hated the way it tasted and how it burned going down. He wondered how people could actually enjoy it straight like this.

He wasn't here to enjoy the drinks, he was here to try and escape his problems. Seemed to work just fine for other people didn't it?

"I'm Tom." He said again, trying to sit up straight.

He was most definitely more drunk then he expected. All well. If he gets too bad he could just offer him some water or something. Despite popular rumours he was not that seedy.

"Hi, Tom."

He smiled and cocked his head to the side, dark auburn lock falling swinging as he did.

"I'm Jace. You new round here?"

Tom furrowed his brow. He'd never met a girl named Jace. Maybe it was short for some name in another language.

"I moved here last fall but.. I'm not much of a drinker honestly." He said truthfully, his voice slightly slurred.

A crooked smile came to his face.

"If that wasn't obvious I guess."

He grinned in amusement. How many shots did he have?

"No, not at all."

Yes, it was.

He knew a light weight when he saw one.

Though, he seemed a liitle more on the edge of drunk then drunk - considering his standard of drunk was a head stuck in the toilet seat.

"Not too long then? I only moved here a couple of years myself."$

He took a few more sips of his drink. It felt more like he was drinking pop.

Tomaso grinned and nodded, looking down.

Being around women always reminded Tom how painfully awkward he was around those of the opposite sex.

He wanted to say things to keep conversation going, he wanted to be a smooth talker and a charming sort of guy.

But instead he always froze up and had a hard time making eye contact. He wasn't sure why it was so hard for him and came so easily to others. But that's just the way life was, he guessed.

His cheeks were a slight rose color as he sipped the last of his bourbon.

The colour gracing Tom's was cute.

Jace subtly leaned a little closer so the sides of his arms brushed.

"Let me get you another."

He called over the bar tender, flashing some money to catch his eye. "What do you want? I guess nothing too strong."

Tom was a bit baffled.  Why would a pretty woman like Jace be offering to buy him drinks?  Why was she even talking to him?

He let out a shy laugh at the last thing she said.

"A-are you sure?" He asked.

He waved his hand/

"It is no problem - trust me. Now what do you want to drink? Or at this rate I will just get you some water."

He changed the leg he lent his weight on, the hem of his white dress swishing as he did so. Just to empathise his pseudo impatience.

Oh, and to get other people in the bar looking his way. He loved attention from the anyone and everyone.

"Another....." Tom's eyes trailed down to her thighs.

The swishing dress drew his gaze right in and in his current state he didn't look away.

"Bourbon." He said slowly. He looked hypnotized.

Well he definitely got someone attention.

He lifted his heel on his toe, bending he knee even more to let the dress rise another centimetre on Tom's side.

"Two bourbon's, please."

He exchanged the Euro's for the drinks and passed one to Tom.

"Cheers to new friends."

He lifted his new drink in Tom's direction, the half drunken vodka and lemonade left abandoned.

Tom looked back up to Jace's green eyes.

He wondered if those were her real eyes or if she was contacts or something.

"Cheers." He said, raising his glass and then taking a gulp.

There were his real eyes. It was rare for someone of his colour to get his eyes and natural hair colouring. He guessed this was a benefit of being one of the supernatural, having such intriguing looks, but he guessed it was also one of their downfalls. They stood out of the crowd.

He took a gulp of his own drink, enjoying this burn as it slid down his throat.

He placed the empty shot down on the counter, a slight nagging buzz at the back of his head. As weak of a vampire he was, he still had a good immune system. It would still take a number of shots before he could fully feel the affects of the alcohol taking place.

"Just tell be when you want another. I have more money then I can spend."

He nudged Tom's shoulder again.

"One of the benefits of being the youngest of a big family."

Tom waved his hand. It was the slightest movement, nothing about him was really over the top.

"I better not ha-ave any more... I m't not bable to get home ifa keep goin." He said, giving Jace another shy smile.

"Bit of a light weight then? Thought lycans could handle their drink." He teased.

Though, he still asked the bartender for some water.

While it was not something he detested, it was never fun dragging someone back to where they lived when they were stumbling and sick.

Tom bit his bottom lip. Even when he wasn't feeling like his most sober, he was so excitable about learning things about his new life.

His instincts had let him know that Jace was special, but wasn't a lycan such as himself. He smelt different. A scent that he was sure the humans in the bar wouldn't be able to pick up.

"'M still lernin' how to be a proper beast." He said, scratching behind his neck.

"A proper beast?"

He had to let out a small laugh, hiding it behind his hand and then behind his drink. He was pretty enduring.

"I am sure you will get there some day."

Or maybe not. Not everyone became these frightening creatures they ready in books. He was sure if they saw some of them, they would scratch their head in confusion.

"Are you not very old?"

Not that he cared, but he wanted to keep a conversation going.

Tom chuckled a bit when he heard that Jace had gotten a kick out of what he said.

He ran his hand back through his hair and then tapped his fingers against his chin, as if thinking.

"Months? November was when it happened." He recalled. "Good Lord it's been a half of a year." He realized for the first time.

He couldn't believe how fast the time had flown by.

Jason raised a shaped eyebrow. He was younger then what he pinned him as.

He never really knew what it was like going from human to some supernatural creature. The experience was difference for everyone, he suppose. Some of them took it was if they were never human to begin with. Others are slow and gradual in getting used to their new life. And some don't cope at all.

"It will be fifty years before you know it."

His lips curled into a grin.

Tom's eyes widened and he ran his hand down over his face. He still couldn't fathom the possibility of that. Were he still human he'd be in his 80's... an old man at the end of his life by that point.

But not anymore... he was practically an infant compared to what was ahead of him.

"Buon Dio." He breathed.

He let out another laugh at the lycan's shocked expression. Were-human's are funny.

"And then you will be a century old. And then many centuries old. And if you are lucky, a millennium. A walking fossil."

Even though he has just reached his first century and a half, the idea of living so long didn't make his head hurt - like a lot of humans or newly made supernatural beings. It was just a simple matter of fact for him. His own mother lived well over a millennium.

"Ah, stop. Ya're makin'... my head hurt." He said, though his tone was not bitter but instead a little playful.

"Ye're the first vampire lady I met." He said randomly, changing the subject. He'd crossed paths with a male once, but the conversation hadn't lasted long.

"Well... full vampire... ya are full yes?" His voice still slurred. "Er... pure or whatever..."
