"You're incredibly lazy."

He almost sounded impressed at the sheer extent of the laziness of the woman sat in front of him.

"But that sounded an awful lot like a challenge."

Lilly gave a short snort and shook her head.

"Take it as a challenge if you want but I am telling you now, exercise and me are not friends and I doubt that is going to change."

She didn't want Ian to test out if he could get her running, it wasn't something she wanted, at all.

It was horribly wasted effort on both their parts.

"You just keep being a gym junkie and I'll continue to be a blob."

She added with a smile as she took another sip of her sweet drink.

"You don't have to be friends to exercise."

If people were friends with exercising, he would be out of a job. He much preferred that people found exercising difficult. That gave him a good chance at a well-paid job.

Being paid to stand around and yell at someone to run was all right by him.

Ian gave a soft hum in response as he sucked on a coffee soaked biscuit.

He wasn't going to make any promises.

"Then why do it?"

She asked with a soft huff, what was the point if she didn't need it.

Plus exercising to excess would make life difficult for her, she would need to feed even more, And that would be an issue with how much she already needed.

Though he didn't need to know that.

"To give yourself a sense of accomplishment."

The feeling you got after exercising was incredible. He - and a lot of other people - loved it.

It made the difficulty of actually exercising more bearable.

Ian dipped his finger into the filling of one of the cones on Lilly's plate and licked it off his finger slowly.

"Makes you feel less guilty about having that extra slice of cake, too."

Lilly gave a soft whimper as he licked his finger, chewing on her lip as she watched him.

"Don't do that."

She scolded, narrowing her eyes, no doubt he had done that on purpose.

Nobody was that sexy by accident.

Ian looked genuinely confused for a full second before something sparked in his eyes and he grinned.

"Don't do what?" he asked. His voice had dropped a little, become just that little bit too husky for decent conversation.

He leaned forwards a little as he dipped his finger in the filling again and bought it to his lips.

"That."
She growled, clearly he was pleased with himself.

Lilly leaned forward and smacked him on the shoulder before stealing the horn and biting into it.

Of course him being sexual was making her hot and bothered and that was fuelling other urges, both of which weren't acceptable for such a quaint cafe.

Ian laughed when he was slapped, settling back in his seat as he licked his finger clean again.

He crossed his legs at the ankles as he turned back to devouring his own plate full of heart attack.

He licked the back of his fork before cutting himself another small piece of cake.

"You're cheeky."

She muttered as she shook her head and turned back to her food, eating the last of her horns.

"You keep all that sexualness to yourself."

Lilly murmured before taking a deep drink of her latte.

"Sexualness?" he echoed with a little grin.

What a word.

He broke off another small piece of tiramisu and held it out on his fork for Lily to take.

"Who's to say I have any control over my sexualness."

"Careful Ian, one day your ass might write a cheque that it can't cash."

She replied, a small grin of her own curling at her lips as she looked up at him and leaned forward, taking the Cake and chewing it slowly.

Her expression hinting At knowing something that he did not.

Idly she wondered if he had much experience with vampires.

The man gave a soft, unconcerned hum in response to her warning.

He tapped the fork against the tip of her nose gently as he cut off another piece of one of her horns for himself.

"I think I'll be fine, sweetheart."

He grinned at her, his blue eyes sparkling.

Lilly wrinkled her nose as it was tapped, brushing off the crumbs.

"We will see."

She replied with a small shrug as a little smirk curled at her lips.

She had brought bigger men than him to their knees before.

"I'm sure we will."

He took up his glass and sipped at his milkshake again, licking his lips as he set the glass back down on the table.

"How long have you worked as a nurse?"

"I've been working as a nurse for the last six years, been on the mainland for the last year then transferred over here when a position opened up."

She replied, after completing high school she had gone straight into her training to get into medicine.

"I wanted to become a doctor but the cost of school is huge and the hours are less than desirable."

"Attacking people with needles for six years. You really are vampiric," he teased.

Ian gave a little wince. "That's why I didn't go into FE. The costs are ridiculous. At least with this job I don't have to know much more than muscles, basic first aid and how to shout."

The pay for his job was good. People paid a surprising amount to have someone yell at them to run faster.

"I am."

She replied with a grin, little did he know that she wasn't joking. Not that it mattered, it was a little early to announce that she really was a Vampire, after all, he might not take it well, or he might think she was crazy.

It was hard trying to figure out how humans would react.

There was a chance she could hide it for quite a while, after all, if she secretly fed at work then she would be fine.

She just had to avoid too much exercise and excessive sunlight.

"Being a nurse is good so I doubt I'll try to become a doctor now, I like having the flexible hours, I'd rather have a life to be honest. As for people paying you to yell at them...that isn't something I understand at all."

If she was going to pay him for something it wouldn't be shouting.

Ian shrugged.

"I don't understand it, either. But then again, I very rarely need a push to get me motivated."

The man grinned.

"My side job is completely the opposite. I get paid to stay silent while everyone else is yelling at me."

"Side job?"

She asked, rising an eyebrow at him, she was curious now and by the grin on his face no doubt the answer she was waiting for would be highly amusing.

Thoughts rushed through her mind, wondering what situation would call for him being quiet as he is yelled at.

"Mhmm side job."

His lips quirked into a little grin as his long fingers started playing idly with the straw in his milkshake cup.

"I'm an exotic dancer."

He didn't know how she would take that news.

Lilly was taking a sip of her drink when he dropped that bombshell and she snorted loudly, clutching her face as she choked on the latte, part of it going up her nose as she laughed.

She grabbed a napkin and wiped her latte covered hands with a wide grin.

"An exotic dancer? Where?"

She asked, the devilish look in her eyes giving away why she wanted to know.

Prime perving opportunity.

Ian didn't know how to feel about her snorting into her latte, but the sparkle in her eyes when she asked made him feel a little better.

"Zo," he answered. "It's on the other side of town on the edge of the clubbing district."

Ian took a sip of his milkshake.

"We have both male and female dancers that go on stage at different points in the night."

"That would explain why you keep so fit."

She replied with a little nod, you wouldn't want to be mostly naked in front of a large group of people if you were flabby and round.

"Worth me heading down and checking out?"

She asked, her grin widening a little, not many people would expect it of her but she had her own perverted side, very few people got to see it though.

"Or I could just go down and check you out."

She added a little quieter as she took a sip from her drink, a sly smile replacing her grin.

"I keep fit because I like being fit. The dancing has nothing to do with it." Okay, it may have a little to do with it. A few of female strippers (and one or two of the male) were hot and his body gained their attention.

"I work there so I'm going to say yes to that even if it's not true."

Ian quirked a brow and grinned.

"I'll put on a good show for you if you do come down."
