[C] The Date Empty
PostSubject: [C] The Date   [C] The Date EmptySat Dec 14, 2013 4:59 am

At dead on seven, Alyosha knocked on Tayce's door.

He had dressed himself up a little. He couldn't help himself. He wanted to impress the woman.

He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, his jeans clinging to his muscular thighs as they clenched and relaxed with the movement.

His forearms were bare, the sleeves of the black button down he was wearing pushed up to his elbows.

Lyo held a rose in his hand that he had picked from the garden. There was nothing wrong with a little good old fashioned charm, was there? Hopefully it'd get a good reaction from the woman.

Pandora sat on Tayce's bed along with a pile of clothes that the young necromancer had tried on and discarded.

"What is wrong with me Pan?" She had asked, a grumpy look on her face. "Why can't I just chose something to put on!? It's not like I have a lot of clothes anyway."

Her friend, who was very aware of the necromancers emotions, had given some worried whimpers, causing Tayce to realize that she needed to calm down for Pan's sake.

She then proceeded to say "fuck it", close her eyes, and randomly pick out something to wear.

Her hand landed on an old, deep red blazer she owned. She hadn't worn it since she dyed her hair blue.

The girl let out a little laugh and rolled her eyes. Of course that's what she'd pick out.

"What do you think Pan?" She asked, holding the blazer up.

Pan barked "oui!" happily. All she knew was that the blazer had made Tayce laugh, so she liked it!

Tayce then looked at the clock... it was 6:30! She had to hurry. The young woman selected a few more articles of clothing that would match the blazer, and ran back into the bathroom.

She had just finished putting on a bit of lipstick when the door knocked, at exactly seven o' clock.

Well he was certainly punctual.

When Tayce answered the door, her hair was pulled back into a lose fitting bun. Some of the strands fell down and framed her face. Under her red blazer she wore a white and black stripped shirt, a necklace with big black gems on it, and a high waisted black lace skirt. Bracelets lined up one of her wrists, as she too had her sleeves rolled up to her elbows.

She could't help but scan Lyo up and down a few times before letting her eyes settle on the rose.

This just could not be real. A charming, sexy man, here for her.

What gives?!

The Necromancer also had his hair tied back in a tight, neat ponytail, one lock falling free to brush against his chest.

He held out the rose for her, a crooked grin curling his lips.

"You look beautiful," he murmured in his thick accent.

She really did look stunning. He was so lucky she had said yes to their date.

"Are you ready?"

Tayce took the rose and looked at it with an unamused expression.

"Cute." She said flatly, before tossing the rose carelessly back into her room.

"Why did I just do that?!" She screamed at herself inwardly.

"Because you're smarter than he is. If he thinks he can trick you into falling that easily then he has another thing coming." The more dominant part of her personality retorted.

On the outside she just stepped outside her room and closed her door.

"I suppose." She said without emotion.

Alyosha watched as the rose fell to the floor.

That hurt just a little. He was trying to be nice. Romantic. He wanted her to have the sort of first date that every girl dreamt about.

Oh well. He could get past that. It was just a flower.

The date could still go well.

Lyo offered his hand. "Shall we go?"

Should she take his hand? Would that be smart?

She all ready threw away his flower.

Trying to force her thoughts back, Tayce hesitantly took his hand.

What did hand holding mean anyway? This was Italy. Everyone held hands. If she were to refuse that she'd be acting bitchy even by her own standards.

They walked a few steps before she stopped in her tracks.

"Oh... I... I just realized... I...forgot something! One moment!" She said, before running back to her room and slamming the door shut. Lyo wouldn't have had any time to even react.

She scooped the rose up off the floor and placed it gently on her dresser. Once she knew it would be safe she trotted back out and took Lyo's hand again.

"S-sorry about that." She apologized, looking down.

Alyosha was from a place where little shows of affection like this weren't accepted. You didn't show you were sweet in the Mafia. It was the quickest way to get you killed.

So holding someone's hand like this was a big thing. Even when it was something so incredibly normal to Italians.

He smiled when she gripped his hand, thumb rubbing over her knuckles gently.

Lyo blinked, staring after the woman in shock as she darted back down the hall.

"Got everything?" he asked when she returned, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.

Tayce nodded her head up and down before using her free hand to readjust her glasses further up on her nose.

Her hand felt so small compared to Lyo's big and strong hand. It suddenly occurred to her that the man could absolutely crush her if he wanted to. The thought left Tayce feeling nervous and scared.

What was she doing!?

She'd never dated before, never held a man's hand before... she felt so out of her league.

The thought of Lyo crushing her was laughable. He wouldn't crush her. In the last few years, he felt bad for crushing a spider. Hurting something wasn't the sort of thing Lyo liked doing.

Hurting someone he liked was even worse.

Tayce was safe from being crushed.

The Necromancer smiled as he led her into the garage and to his car. It wasn't very impressive, but it got him from point a to point b.

He opened the passenger seat door for the woman with a little smile.

Tayce would't know that though. She was scared and untrusting of her own species. Humans were cruel and unpredictable. They lied and caused suffering all for their own pleasure.

When he offered for her to sit in his car she almost ran away right then.

This was her last chance to call things off. If she got in that car there was no turning back. She'd be at his mercy.

But if she did leave, she could be losing out on one of the nicest, most gentlemanly people she'd ever met. And she knew she'd always look back and wonder what might have been if she hadn't chickened out.

Taking a deep breath, Tayce thanked Lyo, and sat in the car.

Lyo closed the door gently behind her as she sat down.

It only took him a few moments to get into the car himself and pull out of the garage. Then they were heading down the road towards Catania.

Lyo had got an evening planned for them and he really hoped it went as well as he planned.

The drive was quick and soon Lyo had parked up outside the cinema.

Tayce stared out the window for the short drive. Her thoughts were clouded, a mixture of her own social anxieties and her worry for Pan. She sure hoped the hound would behave herself while alone at the coven.

"Lyo."
She finally asked, before getting out of the car. "Do you think Pan will be okay by herself? What does Tuzik usually do while you're away?"

"Pan is strong dog. She will be fine."

If Pan was anything like Tuzik, she would be absolutely fine alone for a few hours.

"He likes to read. He is getting very good."

Pride entered his tone. He was proud of his Hound for getting so good at reading.

"I... I've never been separated from her very long." Tayce admitted. She figured that if anyone would understand it would by Lyo. He and Tuz seemed very close.

Lyo did understand.

"She will be fine," he assured. The hound would probably just lay around being bored the the few hours they were gone.

"Promise."

And, if they got a second date, they could put the two hounds together to keep each other company.

Promises meant nothing to Tayce. There was no such thing as a promise in her mind. But the fact that he offered her that for comfort was sweet, and she did appreciate it.

"So, the cinema." She said, changing the subject and looking up at the flashy sign.

His gaze flickered up to the building outside the car.

"Da, the cinema. You can choose movie."

Alyosha didn't mind what they watched. She could sit him through a child's film or the sappiest romance movie to ever exist and he would sit there without complaint as long as she was enjoying herself.

The Necromancer climbed out of the car and headed around to the other side of the car to open the door for Tayce.

When Tayce got out of the car she looked up at the listings to see what was playing.

She got a slight grin on her face and pointed to a poster of a giant red "1D" and a bunch of cute teenage boys singing.

"That one." She said, taking Lyo's hand again.

Her grin disappeared and she looked serious as fuck.

1D

One Direction if his memory (and the constant playing of their songs on the radio) served him correctly.

He...supposed he could tolerate this if it made Tayce happy. It wasn't like their music was terrible or anything. He'd heard a lot worse before.

"All right."

Tayce's face broke out into a smile and she snorted back a laugh, using her free hand to cover her face.

Finally she all out and laughed.

"You're far too sweet." She teased. He was willing to see a movie targeted for preteen girls.

She then pointed to a completely different movie poster featuring someone wearing a creepy looking lamb mask and the words "You're Next."

"That is what I really want to see." She told him.

His lips curled upwards a little and he shook his head with a soft laugh.

She was testing him.

He hoped he passed her little test.

His smile widened into a smirk as his eyes settled on the posted she pointed out. That looked like his kind of film.

"Good choice."

"I've heard a lot about it. It sounds really creepy and plot twisty." She said, walking with him to get their tickets.

She passed up on having any movie snacks. She didn't want to look like a pig in front of Lyo.

When they sat down she folded her legs and waiting for the film to start. It'd been a while since she'd seen a good horror flick.

"We will see."

Alyosha had very high hopes for horror movies.

With what he had seen in his life and the knowledge of what was truly out there, horror movies had lost some of their appeal to the Necromancer.

Lyo leant back against the seating as he rested one arm around the back of Tayce's chair.

Let the movie begin.

True to most Horror movie fashion, the film started out with two people having sex.

"How lovely." Tayce thought, feeling a bit embarrassed about watching something like that.

Of course the couple were killed right after they had sex. Tayce nearly laughed, but she didn't want to seem like a psychopath. Horror movies were so predictable it was funny.

The young woman noticed other girls there with their dates, freaking out and clinging onto their boyfriends, looking terrified.

Tayce wondered if she should be that way, if that's how girls were supposed to act. But that just wasn't who she was. Though she'd never admit it, she hoped she wasn't letting Lyo down.

The Necromancer himself tried to stifle a soft chuckle when the two on screen were killed. His attempts, though, left a lot to be desired as the chuckle sounded despite his 'best efforts.'

Lyo didn't really want someone who would cling to him at the first sight of something scary. Well, he did... But that was a novelty he wanted to feel big and strong. The novelty would wear off after the first few situations and he'd get bored of it.

Having someone who wasn't easily scared suited the Necromancer much better. Someone that could laugh at the carnage of badly made movies along side him.

Tayce was better suited for him than any of the girls curled against their dates trying to hide.

Though, if the girl started cuddling against his chest, he wouldn't say no to cuddling her back...
