Emory was bored, worse than that was the fact that the house was quiet for once.

He was growing accustomed to the constant noise.

The boy padded down to the dungeon and sat down on the cool stone floor.

His gaze turned up to the usually giggling Vampire.

"Gerhard said I could have you, if I wanted."

He informed the dangling man, he hadn't decided if he would take that offer or not.

Edric was, for the first time in a long while, sleeping. The man was good at staying awake for days. It was something that Cadence had once said contributed to his quirky personality.

The old Vampire dangled from the chains clasped around his wrists, his head bowed.

He didn't snore. He hardly sounded like he breathed, either. He was quiet and still. His breathing was so shallow that it was like it wasn't there.

He pursed his lips as the Vampire slept, though in this state Emory was liking his company a lot more.

Still the boy got up and passed over to th man, placing a chair beside his dangling body so he could reach the chains.

He unlocked the man, pulling the chain free and letting his sleeping form drop to the floor.

A small smile crossed his lips, that would be a nice wake up call.

Edric collapsed forwards onto the ground when his wrists were released. It wasn't until his jaw cracked heavily onto the concrete below hi that he woke, though.

With his lack of teeth to clatter together at the impact, his fangs pierced his gums, both upper and lower. The sharp sting made the man give a quiet hiss of pain.

He spat out a mouthful of blood as he sat up, rubbing at the raw red flesh of his wrists.

He licked his bloodied gums, satisfied that the punctures had healed, and grinned a wide, near-toothless grin. "Pretty little lapdog has returned. Did you miss me, pooch?"

Edric's soft hiss of pain drew a small chuckle from the older Vampire.

He sat down in front of the man as he licked his bleeding gum, Emory crossed his legs and watched him.

"Not particularly."

He replied honestly, though out of everyone in this place Edric was lower on the list of ones he hated.

"Gerhard has given you to me, I'm still debating on whether or not to take up his offer."

Edric didn't make to bolt towards the exit of the dark room like most would attempt to. His eyes didn't even flicker towards the stairs leading up to the door.

He didn't move at all bar idly rubbing his raw wrists, smeaking blood over his skin and flaking off small pieces of already dried blood. These little pieces fluttered the short distance through the air from his wrists to his crossed legs.

The Vampire's blue eyes reguarded Emory with an intense sort of interest.

So he'd been offered like a prize bitch to the cock's little lapdog?

Interesting.

And the little lapdog was actually considering the offer.

Even more interesting.

"I told him no to begin with..."

He muttered to himself more than to the other Vampire. Emory's gaze finally flickered to Edric, evaluating him.

"Why are you still here?"

The boy was just sitting cross-legged on the floor, Edric could have easy bolted off through the door and Emory wasn't sure he could be bothered exerting the effort the chase after him right now.

"You could have escaped by now and I wouldn't have stopped you."

He explained, resting his head in his small palm.

"Unless you actually enjoy this sort of treatment?"
Not that he could understand that mentality.

"What's waiting for me out there?"

A life of boring experiences and being shunned by his clan for losing his child. He wasn't in a rush for that.

Things were quite interesting down here for now. He could keep an ear on his child and there was always something happening to keep his interest.

Edric was content to stay here for now.

"That was my mentality too."

He had nothing better to do so when Gerhard asked him to play guard dog, he had no reason to object.

Life got boring when it had no purpose and he had run out of purpose long ago. Though killing kept him entertained enough.

"Come, lets get you bathed, you stink of stale blood and cum."

He suggested, getting to his feet and padding up the stairs, maybe Edric would be more appealing if he were cleaned up.

Edric rose fluidly to his feet behind Emory.

From his demeanor since he had been taken into the coven, you could probably guess that he would have a strange way of walking - an odd gait, or the like - but he was silent and elegant with his steps. His feet barely brushed the ground and his head was held high.

He had clearly been raised in the Noble days and those lessons had never lost value with him.

It took Emory by surprise at least, the contrast between Edric and Cadence was immense. You could hear her walking from the other side of the street, even he had to actually pay attention in order to hear Edric's movements.

"You're full of surprises."

Emory noted as he pushed open the door at the top of the stairs. Locking it again once He had let Edric through into the main house.

"This way."

He guided the man to his room, inside it was lined with bookshelves and small tables where various things he had collected sat, cluttered but organised on the crowded surfaces.

Emory pointed toward the bathroom, he had no intention of aiding the man as he bathed.

"Predictability is boring, lapdog."

The restless madness that he had exemplified in all his time locked up seemed to melt away now he wasn't confined to his own mind.

Seemed to was the operative phrase in the sentence.

There was still a restlessness in the way his eyes flickered over the room and the occasional twitch of his fingers that fed into the belief that he was still as mad as he was, hidden under the surface, waiting for its time to spring out again.

In the shower, Edric hummed to himself, a mismatched clash of songs or many ages passed; lyrical prayer from his youth, mixed with current rock and pop.

His favourite song of his time here made an appearance during his shower. Quietly, he sang 'Puppy in the Window' to himself as the hot spray washed away blood and sweat.

Emory resisted the urge to roll his eyes, it seemed that lapdog was a nickname that was sticking for the moment.

He perched himself on the bed as Edric showered, fiddling with a few knick-knacks he kept on the bedside table.

Now that he had unchained the man he was unsure of what to do with him. Did he keep him, use him as some sort of man-servant? Killing him was an option, but that seemed the least fun. Gerhard had given him the man with the intention of him quelling Emory's boredom.

At the sound of the singing he gave a small huff, hopefully Edric would go bored of likening him to a puppy.

Edric scraped his hand through his long blond hair, brushing it out of his face as he steppe, dripping, out of the shower.

He paid no mind to the water rolling over the thin body as he strolled through the bathroom's open door and into the bedroom. Nor did he pay mind to the water seeping into the bed fabric as he flopped down next to Emory.

His wide, manic eyes turned to the boy and he half grinned a toothless smile.

Emory looked up when weight flopped on the bed next to him.

The man's crazed eyes and gappy smile pulled a small chuckle from the boy.

"I imagine you were quite handsome...when you had teeth."

Now he couldn't look at the man without looking at his toothless smile and imagining him as some sort of fanged tortoise.
