[C][AU] Ink Empty
PostSubject: [C][AU] Ink   [C][AU] Ink EmptyThu Aug 09, 2018 11:51 am

Fleck had spent his life hearing his family talk about their soulmates, how they'd seen the marks appear on their skin, and hunted for their partner tirelessly.

Since he was ten years old he'd written on the skin of his right forearm every evening, hoping that his soulmate would be able to see it. He knew that he wouldn't. Not until he was in his late teens. Yet, still, every night, he scrawled across his forearm.

I'm Hank. What's your name?

Eventually that changed to:
I'm Fleck. What's your name?

Still, every night he wrote, and every morning he searched his body for a response.

He was nineteen, late to first see your soulmate's writing, when he got his reply.

Richard written in a beautiful script on his left forearm.

Richard.

That first contact had Fleck excited. From there on out, his evening ritual changed. Instead of writing the same five words he'd been writing since he was young, he started conversation.

He asked Richard how his day had gone, asked him a question that had come to him during the day, even sometimes did a little doodle.

It took him two years to gather the courage to ask Dick if he wanted to meet.

He couldn't fall asleep after he'd scrawled the question on his arm. He laid, staring at his left forearm, waiting for Dick's response.

Dick stared at his right forearm, the thudding of his heart rang loudly between his ears. He hadn't felt this nervous over a message since he first received one. Only this time he didn't plan on waiting a few months to pluck up the courage to reply, watching the same script appear on his arm each day and hiding it underneath long sleeved clothes.

Sure.

He wondered, not for the first time, what his soulmate looked like. He had come up with numerous possibilities with the limited information that he had. But the one thing that all the possibilities had this last year was a very beautiful and kind smile that could sometimes turn cheeky judging from the long conversation he and Fleck had.

He scrawled an address down on the inside of his left arm.

Is here okay with you?

He drew an arrow and circled the address. A larger question mark was drawn next to it.
