The Romanov Twins are a pair of pureblood Lycans that had been taken away from their mother and their pack from a young age by Necromancer that went by the name of Rasputin, his intentions unclear for taking them, and deemed himself an immortal to the twins, which wasn’t too far from the truth
The twins were forced to serve the Romanov Royal family of Russia for many generations as their ‘Guard Dogs’ and private killers while Rasputin hid in the shadows and plotted away
the twins were servants as such for the Romanovs under Rasputin's orders so they caould get close to the family, and give him information as he had wanted them ended. they did as he told them because rasputin was their father figure, or the only one that they knew, so did so unflinchingly.
Rasputin posed as a Monk throughout the ages, being a Healer and a part of the counsil, changing his name and faking a death each generation, but he would always be in the shadows beside the Royal Family, and experimenting on the Twins while getting them to gather information for him
The Twins, not knowing any different, did exactly as Rasputin said, him being their only father figure, and went through many tortures and experiments, being infused with minor necromancy and other kinds of magic and bindings that always failed due to their pure Lycan Blood
Over time, they became more and more twisted as their ‘father’ continued to experiment on them and torture them, putting them through all kinds of tests and pushing them to their limits, as well as sexually abusing them and brutally injuring them for his own sick pleasure, more often than not giving them silver burns, having a brain-dead Lycan that was much older than them, being needed to lick clean the wounds from silver burns and aiding healing, telling them that they were dirty creatures, and forced them to have sex with each other for him to watch

Over time, the Twins came to enjoy it and were then addicted to the Burn and rush from the silver burns as their adrenaline kicked in with being so close to death, the intense burn being pleasant for them, and the thrill of being so close to death as well as the light-headedness and weightlessness they got at the brink of death, but they knew that they would need the brain-dead Lycan on hand to heal them after as he was older than them. they just hated the other effect of feeling like they were rotting and would have to wait for a while to be well enough to do it again

However, this all changed with the fall of the Romanov Family, Rasputin’s planning coming to fruition, but in the end ending up killing him.
They had to kill him in different ways before being sure that he was dead; after having been poisoned, beaten and shot three times in the back, the chest and the head. still, he did not die until having been drowned, and even then, hadn't been dead, despite the previous trauma, before entering the water of the river he had been thrown into.
after fishing out the body, they incinerated him in a small funeral with a quickly lashed together pyre, and only then was anyone sure that the man was dead.

but still, his plan to eradicate the royal family still worked. he had received many gifts and letters and was held in high regard by the royal family, and was also trusted after having cured and saved many of them. he had learned secrets and would get drunk and start spilling all the secrets and rumors and flaunting his gifts and the likes in the public eye, thus destroying the Royal's reputation, and it ended in their demise.

The Twins, now, were left to their own devices and were lost for a long while, not sure what to do without Rasputin telling them what to do, or even the Romanoffs. Even the Brain-dead Lycan had died by this point having taken in too much silver from licking the twin’s silver burns clean far too often, and also not getting to nature soon enough, the lack of it destroying his already weakened body.
over time the twins had become very close to the royal family, so when they were gone, and all role figures they had were dead, they took something that was familiar, so it was like an anchor for them

After many years, they stumbled across a troupe of Gypsies, their leader having found them huddled together in a forest at the base of a tree and flinching at anyone that came near them. they had learned much without Rasputin’s influence and learened that many of the things that they had done for his sick pleasures were totally wrong, and it began breaking them, and they even stopped what they called ‘Quicksilver Rush’, staying clear of silver at all costs, despite their love of the burn
They trusted no one at all, and were suspicious of everyone…what if they were like Rasputin?
However, the leader of the Gypsy troupe was different.
The Twins could smell a comforting and warm scent from the woman, but her expression was showing a firm and suspicious, but still worried, expression
The woman’s name was Rosalie, and she took in the twins into their troupe, having felt sorry for the broken children, and quickly learned about their past as the Twins told her their stories
Rosalie helped them stay off of their Addiction to what they called Quicksilver Rush.
She was like a mother to them.

The Twins easily integerated into the group and made many friends, often playing around with the Gypsies and learning how to dance and do tricks. They would protect the Gypsies at night from anything that may attack them, while the troupe let them eat and have a place to sleep with people to call family
The Twins never left each other’s side, and were very attached to the troupe, which is why they were distraught when the troupe was suddenly gunned down by raiders
there was civil war around that time, and so skittish raiders wanting supplies would gun down a troupe gypsies...who'd miss a group of gypsies?
they had stumbled into a danger zone anyway in no man's land

they were fair game

The twins became enraged and went on a killing spree, destroying the raiders that had just killed their only lifeline to sanity and developed a Bi-Polar disorder, being sweet and childish one moment, and then cruel and sadistic the next.
their minds weren't stable due to previous Silver abuse and general abuse from Rasputin; but the sudden loss of their new family was what tipped them over the edge. they had previously had odd tendencies, but now they were emphasized and exaggerated now
However, they weren't so lost to resort back to what they did with Rasputin, and managed to keep many of the Troupe’s teaching close to heart

That was when they decided to find a new place to stay to try and find a place to call home. They knew that them being alone and by themselves wasn’t healthy for them, and would need someone to tell them when to stop when they went too far...so they travelled south on a whim, wanting to get away from the place that held so much hurt that would spark off their tendencies and bring back memories they don’t want brought up

Which is when they found their haven in Italy
