Healing (Gabriel and Jean Claude)

Gabriel curled up on the bed with a mug of slightly warmed blood, gazing down at Jean beside him silently.

Jean Claude had taken a lot of blood last night, and while that made him happy, it did mean that he had to get his strength back. He had tiptoed downstairs as quietly as possible to avoid waking his lover up to get some blood before coming back upstairs.

Taking a sip, he let out a contented sigh, head falling back on the headboard as his eyes slid closed.

Last night had... well. It was too simplistic to say that everything was better now. It wasn't. He still hurt from how Jean had treated him recently. But last night... it had helped him heal a bit.

He had never really been very good at talking about or showing his feelings, and sex was one of the few ways that he was comfortable with opening up. It sounded sleazy and shallow, or whatever, but it was the best way for him to heal a lot of the time.

Jean-Claude laid face down in bed, the covers pulled up over his head.

Cleo had crawled into bed a while after the two vampires had settled down and fallen asleep. She had wormed her way under the blankets and as curled up against her master's bare chest, leeching his heat.

The Fledgeling gave a soft groan and curled around Cleo, pulling her closer.

Gabriel glared down at the cat in his lover's arms. Just when he had finally got some of Jean's attention, the bloody cat had to leap in and steal it away again.

But Jean did look rather sweet curled up around her like that.

Even if the cat was the spawn of Satan himself.

He kissed his lover's neck softly, a hand lacing through the man's hair as he tried to wake him up gently, stroking behind the cat's ear to try to keep her pacified.

"Jean."

The cat glared darkly at Gabe and gave a little hiss.

He was asleep, couldn't Gabe see that? He needed to sleep. Cleo wasn't about to let Gabe wake her up.

She swiped at his hand when he moved to stroke her and gave another low hiss.

Jean-Claude gave a soft groan, curling tighter around Cleo.

He scowled. Well, he wasn't having that.

Carefully, he pried the cat from his lover's grasp, holding her at arms reach as he put her outside, dropping her hastily before quickly closing the door.

Evil creature.

He padded over softly to take her place in his lover's arms, a soft purr rumbling in his chest. Yes, he got jealous of comic books and cats. But they shouldn't take Jean's attention. When Jean was sleeping, he deserved to be in Jean's arms.

Not a cat.

Cleo hissed and growled, swiping and biting at Gabe's hands and arms as he carried her to the door.

When the vampire curled in Jean-Claude's arms, the Fledgeling gave a soft half-aware moan.

His crystalline eyes flickered open, bleary with sleep as he gave a soft yawn.

"Morning."

Gabriel leaned up to brush his lips to Jean's, fingertips tracing the gentle slope of his lover's neck idly. He pulled back, smiling gently.

Jean had been a complete twat to him recently, but he still couldn't help feeling that stupid gooey feeling when he saw him curled up like this in the morning, just after they had been together the night before.

It was slightly irritating, really.

Jean-Claude's lips moved with Gabe's, sloppy and not quite coordinated as he tried to pull his sleep-addled mind together enough to form a word.

If he was feeling adventurous he would try a string of words.

When Gabe pulled back, his head fell back against the pillows and he gave the older vampire a little smile.

"Morn'n." He wasn't feeling adventurous.

He chuckled softly, toying with a strand of the man's hair.

"Still half-asleep? It's one o'clock."

Gabriel was an early riser and found it hard to sleep past 10 o'clock unless it was midsummer and still light outside. Mostly because he was used to it. He had to take a long time over washing, conditioning and combing his hair, so if he didn't get up early, most likely, he would have dreadlocks.

Apparently Jean wasn't the same. Perhaps it was because he was still adjusting to vampire sleeping habits? Or maybe he was just lazy.

Gabriel smiled at him indulgently, leaning in to touch their noses together affectionately. Jean was kind of adorable all sleepy like this, with wavy, mussed-up hair from going to sleep with wet hair, and that sleepy expression. He hadn't so much noticed it before, somehow.
