[C] Chance Encounter

"Let's go pick a movie, then."

He pulled away from the boy after a moment and moved through the house, heading through the livingroom and down the hall to his room.

He pulled his key fob out of his pocket and unlocked his door, pushing it open.

The room was sparse; light brown furniture, white bedding. He owned a bed, a wardrobe and small bookcase. That was all. There wasn't even a poster on the wall.

There were a few DVDs on the bookcase; stuff he had bought cheap when he saw it and thought it looked good.

The bed was unmade and laying on it was a fleshlite. The toy was the only character in the room.

Hayden followed behind him eagerly, he was excited to be spending the afternoon with the man.

He couldn't help but find it odd that Dario locked his bedroom door when his family were around but he didn't openly question it, from their earlier interaction he could guess well enough that they weren't on good terms.

His gaze trailed over the room, it was so plain, it almost made Hayden sad to look at it, he had always thought a room should be filled with memories, pictures scattered about, vibrant colours to really make you feel at home in the space.

The object on Dario's bed did not escape his notice and his cheeks went bright red immediately which he tried to hide by rushing to the bookcase and looking through his DVDs, everytime he saw the man he seemed to catch a intimate glimpse into his life.

Dario moved to lay on the bed as he waited for Hayden to pick a DVD.

He had many different types of movies.

Pulp Fiction, Avengers, Sound of Music, Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Last Unicorn and many more. He had no single favourite type of movie. He watched as many movies as he could and enjoyed most of them.

He hummed softly to himself.

He tried desperately to will down his blushing, why did this always have to happen, seeing these parts of Dario's sexuality always left him flustered and speechless.

"This one."

Hayden decided, holding the Avengers case in front of his face as he gnawed on his lips trying to bite down his embarrassment.

"I uhh... should probably get back to the stove before the apartment burns down."

He stammered slightly before retreating out of the room, seeing the man so casually sprawled out on the bed was making his heart pound erratically.

Dario's eyes flickered up and he smiled.

"It's a good movie." He liked Avengers. It was a really good Superhero movie. Something he didn't watch all that often, but enjoyed when he got the chance. The idea of a fantastical life like that was a great one for the man.

The man pushed himself to sit up when Hayden darted from the room like a terrified blushing bunny.

It was kind of adorable.

After a few moments, the man stood and made his way back to the kitchen to see how the boy was faring.

Hayden took a few deep breaths to calm himself down as best he could before returning to his cooking.

Though the dark blush on his cheeks still remained he focused on the task at hand, trying to not let his mind wander to far.

That proved more difficult that he first thought as he heard Dario approaching, causing him to bite into his bottom lip softly as he quickly shallow fried the last part of their meal.

He felt hot, and that wasn't only because he was standing over a stove.

The man wrapped his arms around the boy,resting his chin on top of Hayden's head.

"Smells good. Can't wait to sink my teeth into it." He ran his tongue over his lower lip slowly as he watched the food fry, fingers idly slipping under the hem of the boy's shirt to stroke his bare stomach.

His fingers traced the waistband of Hayden's jeans slowly as he dropped a kiss on the top of the boy's head.a

Hayden went rigid as the man pressed up against him and pushed his hands up his shirt to stroke at his skin.

A shiver chased up his body and covered him head to toe in goosebumps, his skin tingling at the contact which made his cheeks flush even darker.

A small whimper sounded as his waistband was traced, which he promptly tried to mask by coughing softly into his hand.

"I...uh...it...umm...It's nearly finished."

He stammered as he eyes darted over the food frantically as his mind hazed over.

"I..I need some plates to dish it out onto."
He muttered, trying to distract the man from touching him.

The tips of his fingers slid under the waistband of the boy's underwear, just tracing little patterns over the skin.

"Coming right up."

He dropped another kiss on the top of the boy's head as his hands pulled out of his jeans and he moved back to open a cupboard, bending over to pull out four plates.

He set each one down on the counter for Hayden to fill.

"All yours."

Hayden's eyes widened dramatically as fingers dipped into his underwear, a silent moan sounding, inaudible over the sizzling of the stove.

He wasn't used to being touched like this, so openly, by a man like Dario...it...it just didn't happen to him, ever.

"Thank you."

He muttered weakly as the plates were set out for him, with the hands away from his pants he would think somewhat clearly, thinking completely clearly was impossible by the sensation of Dario's fingers and his lips lingered on the boy's skin.

Gingerly he spooned a generous portion of couscous onto each plate, adding a roll of veal and ham on top, covering it all in the rich tomato sauce and finishing the meal off by plopping down two fresh arancini balls and sprinkling it all with Parmesan cheese.

"Ready to eat."

He murmured, looking up at Dario with bright scarlet cheeks, a small, slightly proud smile gracing his lips.

It was easy to tell the boy was part Italian from his cooking, there was enough of it to feed an army.

The man's mouth watered as he gazed down at the plates set out for them.

Damned, they'd be eating like kings tonight.

He picked up two plates and headed into the livingroom, calling out for his sister and nephew to join them for dinner.

Two hungry people appeared from their rooms, taking up the entirety of the couch as Dario handed them the plates he was holding. Pina looked down at the plate silently for a few long moments before picking at it slowly. She was tall for a woman, but incredibly thin with sallow skin and messy black hair that looked like it hadn't seen a brush in weeks.

Hayden took the brief moment of Dario's absence to calm himself down, they were going to watch a movie and eat dinner, he didn't need to freak himself out about this.

The boy took in a calming breath, silently cursing Dario was working him up like this and leave his mind in an absolute tizz.

He took the liberty of finding himself a glass and pouring a small cup of water, drinking it down slowly before grabbing his and Dario's plate and following the man out, pausing awkwardly at the edge of the living room, he was always unsure of himself in larger groups of people, especially amongst this lot, he felt absolutely tiny, even the woman was taller than he was.

Pina glanced up when she heard Hayden appear from the kitchen.

"You bought a whore home," she murmured absently, dark empty eyes staring at the boy hard for a moment before returning to her plate.

"At least he can cook. Are you planning on being loud tonight? I don't want to hear my twin fucking his little slut."

Dario sighed softly, sending Hayden an apologetic glance as he took a seat on the floor. As far away from his family as he could. This was another reason he didn't want Hayden cooking for them. He'd get so much abuse from Pina, and in turn, her son.

He could only imagine what Desi would now say to the poor boy.

Desi perked up as his mother spoke, looking over his shoulder as he shot a glare at the kid.

"Is he even sixteen? Told you Dario was a fucking pervert, being a prostitute isn't bad enough, now he's a pedophile as well."

He replied to his mother with as much venom as he could muster, he was still resentful after what had happened at Doc's apartment.

Hayden took a step back, recoiling slightly in shock at the sudden slew of abuse when he hadn't done anything wrong.

His wide eyes darted from the woman to the boy then finally to Dario as he held back a whimper.

He wouldn't bite back, if he tried to correct them he would only be picked on further, instead he silently walked across the room and sat down on the floor next to Dario, placing his plate in the man's lap as he silently scooped up a forkful of couscous and sauce and placed it in his mouth, eating quietly as he looked down at his own plate.

Dario knew the score with his family.

Everything they said wasn't meant to be hurtful to Hayden. it was meant to be hurtful to him. They wanted to make Dario's life a living hell and did that through insulting the people he was with.

He was just lucky enough to have some very malicious family members that fed off each other.

Dario dug into his food silently, purring softly as the taste of the sauce and couscous filled his mouth. That tasted damned good.

"You couldn't have afforded this," Pina said, eyes turning to her brother. "Fucking him and leeching his money. Dirty whore that one, kid." She waved her fork at her brother. "You don't know what he's got. Whores himself out to everyone. Did you find him on a street corner wearing nothing but a ribbon around his cock and a sign around his neck saying 'will fuck for cents'?"

This wasn't what he had envisioned when Dario said he would be cooking for his family too, he had been at least expecting something...civil.

His lips pursed as they started throwing out more insults, Hayden could only take so much before he would bite back, if they were insulting him he could probably take it, but targeting Dario made him even more upset.

"He isn't fucking me."

The boy finally muttered as he looked down at his food, pushing it around his plate.

"I'm twenty years old and I'm not a whore, I work as an assistant down at the animal shelter.

Also I didn't find him on a street corner, he saved me from drowning so this is me repaying one act of kindness with another, so please, just eat it."

He murmured, trying his best not to let emotion into his voice.

"I don't care what Dario does for work, he is still a good person, which is more than I can say for most people."

Pina arched a fine brow and gave a loud snort.

"Hear that? Dario's a good person, Desi."

The woman nudged her son and cackled loudly. "That good person is a fucking whore and a drug addict. He's nothing but slime. Just like us." Pina was under no impressions of being a good person. She was slime and she knew it. She welcomed it.

Dario grit his teeth and rested his hand on Hayden's shoulder, shaking his head a little.

It wasn't worth the breath it took to bite back.

The quicker and quieter they ate, the quicker Pina and Desi would go back to their rooms and they could get on with the movie.

Desi laughed loudly at the boy trying to defend his uncle, it was comical gold.

"A good person? I'd hate to see what a bad person looks like then, he can act all high and mighty but he is still in the gutter like all of us."

He joined in with his mother, taking great amusement in this little turn of events.

Hayden pursed his lips as he glared down at his plate, he didn't want to believe the malicious things they were saying but at the same time, defending him just made matters worse.

The boy let out a soft sigh before forcing another small bite into his mouth, quickly losing his appetite, he should have listened to what Dario had said in the grocery store. Better yet, he shouldn't even be here but walking out now would be foolish, he barely knew his way home from here and even if he did he doubted he would make it far on these street without running into trouble.

Still...if he transformed he could scamper off undetected, he only had to make it out of the apartment building.

The man sighed as he pushed the last little bit of rice around his plate.

Outside he looked completely cool, but inside he was panicking immensely. He just knew his sister would be like this. He knew insults would fly.

He shouldn't have let Hayden in here. He was stupid for suggesting they have a movie night. Now the boy would be put off my his sister and her son and he wouldn't have the chance to hang out with the sweetest guy he'd met.

The man stood silently and stalked towards the kitchen, his bad mood returning.

He'd take Hayden back to somewhere safe as soon as the boy was finished. Hayden didn't have to stay around this any longer.

He was half expecting the boy to demand to leave and never want to see him again.

Hayden had felt safe until Dario got up and left his side, sitting on the floor with his sister and nephew opposite him, far larger than himself had him feeling slightly on edge.

He didn't know these people, did their abuse stop at the verbal?

A lump rose in his throat as his looked down at his barely touched plate.

He felt as though he was on the verge of tears but he wouldn't give them that satisfaction.

Hayden got to his feet slowly and instead of heading toward the kitchen he left his plate on the floor and headed for the front door, slipping out as silently as he could.

When Dario left the room, Pina stayed silent and just ate her meal contentedly.

She had no beef with Hayden. The boy meant nothing to her. For all intents and purposes, he didn't even exist to her unless there was a way she could use him to make Dario feel like shit.

Dario sighed heavily as he leant against the wall, rubbing at the bridge of his nose firmly.

He'd have to apologise to Hayden for his sister's shit. That was the first thing to do on his list. Then he'd take him back. Apologise about a hundred times more then promise to never bother him again.

Hayden took a large breath as soon as he was outside of the apartment, his small body trembling in barely concealed anger as he slumped against the wall just outside the apartment door, sliding down it until he was curled up on the corridor floor.

His hands rested on his knees as his face hid in them, angry tears streaming down his face.

How could Dario live like that, how could such a sweet and gentle man live with such horrible people who did nothing but make his life miserable.

He couldn't stand it, he could barely understand it, he grit his teeth softly, needing a moment to calm down before he could think about being in the same room as the vile woman and her offspring.

Dario returned to the livingroom after a few long moments that he took to compose himself.

"Where is he?" he asked when his eyes settled on the empty place Hayden had been sitting in.

Pina shrugged, setting her knife and fork down on her empty plate. "He left not so long ago. I thought he was heading to the kitchen for a quickie or a blowjob." She shrugged carelessly and stood, setting her plate down on the couch for Dario to clean up. "Not my problem."

She didn't care where the boy was.

Dario growled softly and headed down the hall to his bedroom. Empty. He locked it behind him as he headed towards the bathroom. He didn't need Pina or Desi taking advantage of him being distracted and his bedroom door being open.

The boy wasn't in the bathroom.

Fear struck him deep then. Where was he?!

"Your little whore left."
Desi called out with a chuckle as he too abandoned his plate on the chair.

"Guess he saw your true colours and went running out the front door with his tail between his legs."

The boy mocked, whimpering pathetically before chuckling and heading to his own bedroom, dripping in satisfaction at his uncles panic.

Hayden hadn't moved a muscle, he sat at the front door calming himself down as he rested his chin against his knees, sniffling softly as his tears slowly began to subside.

The mocking whimper made him cringe.

What if Hayden had gotten into trouble?

Dario bolted for the front door, ready to follow after the boy and protect him from any harm that could rear its ugly head. This was a bad place for someone as sweet looking as Hayden to be walking around alone.

The man dropped to his knees, shoulders slumping in relief when his eyes settled on Hayden.

He hadn't gone far enough to get into trouble.

His arms wrapped around the boy, pulling him closer as he rested his forehead on the back of the boy's head. "Thank God you're safe."
