[C] Accidents

The wolf's snowy white paws thudded against the soft earth as she ran as fast as she could.

The full moon was once again taking its toll and like every full moon since she had arrived in Catania she was heading to Khaliq's house after spending time with the pack.

A soft whine of yearning left her muzzle as she broke through the forest and looked around, no one in sight.

She bolted again, darting across roads and alley ways as she headed toward his apartment.

Tomaso didn't own a car. But he did have a rental car. He wasn't sure how long he'd be in this place, but he wanted to rent a car so he could travel the more remote places of Catania. The last thing he wanted was to be found wondering alone, in the dark, no one able to help him if something happened.

He'd been reading and learning so much about necromancy ever since he met the beautiful woman in the park; Fawzi.

But hearing such tales had him slightly spooked out. When Fawzi spoke of these things... they almost seemed real. Of course that was preposterous, but still Tom found himself renting the car for both convenience and... protection.

He was driving in the country side, looking for desolate and abandoned buildings that may have served as a coven to mythical cults in the past.

He wasn't aware of how real and how close this mythical life was.

One moment the road was clear, but in an instant he saw something moving from the corner of his eye, something big.

But by then it was too late. The creature bounded in front of his car. Tom clenched his teeth and tried to break, but it was to no avail. His car plowed over the animal. It was such a big beast that the car dented and the windshield broke.

Tom swerved off to the side of the road before the vehicle finally came to a stop. Smoke steamed out of the hood of the car.

The man's heart rate was rocketing inside his chest. He tried to catch his breath, his eyes growing as he realized there was blood on his windshield.

What had he hit!?

As he got out of his car, he felt something running down his chin. He wiped away at it and found that he was also bleeding. The airbag had gone off, but his lip was still busted up. He didn't even feel the pain though, his adrenaline so high.

He saw the creature laying in the road. He began to approach it, and saw it was a wolf... but it was so large! Much bigger than any wolf he'd ever seen.

And then he froze. The wolf began to move.. it was still alive. Panic rose in Tom's chest and he started backing towards his broken car again.

One moment Raisa was bounding toward town the next she felt something hit her, and it hit her hard.

Her head smacked against the steel bumper of the car before her body was rolled over by tonnes of metal and rubber.

The white wolf lay against the gravel road, panting softly as a high pitched whine escaped it.

Blood stained it's fur, pouring down the side of it's head, as well as it's shoulder and hip.

The creature tried to stand, but whimpered and flopped back to the ground, it's front leg clearly broken.

She was yet to notice the human gawking at her, the hit to the head left her dazed and confused, she wasn't quite sure where she was or what had happened.

Tom didn't want to turn around and take his eyes off the beast. He felt terrible for hitting it. It looked like it was in a lot of pain. Maybe he should call animal control and they could either help it or put it out of it's misery.

He quickly reached into his coat pocket and dialed 1-1-3 to try and connect to the police to see if they could help him.

Raisa's gaze turned up to him as he pulled the phone from his coat and dialed the police, she could hear the call connecting, even at this distance.

Panic set in, these roads led straight to the coven, this man was going to bring police here, they would scout out the area...during the full moon...

Having police drawn here was bad enough, it would definitely piss Giacinto off immensely, but having them tracking through the woods tonight, they'd all be killed.

The injured wolf was up in a flash, bounding toward the man on three legs, if nothing else she could snatch his phone to stop the call, he couldn't bring more people here and risk a slaughter.

Raisa went for his hand, grabbing the phone in her muzzle with ease and jumping back, crushing it between her teeth.

The woman was concuss and her depth perception was off, on any other night she could of done that without even scratching the man, but as the phone slipped from her mouth she realized that she could taste blood, his blood.

Her eyes widened with the realization, she had bitten him by accident, even now she could see the gaping wound on his hand.

It all happened in the moment that Tom took his eyes from the wolf to look at his phone and dial the number.

Before he could even bring it up to his ear, the wolf had somehow managed to not only get up, but bite the phone away from his hand.

He let out a shocked yell and jumped back, scrambling back towards his car.

The man looked at the wolf with wide eyes as he tried to get the door open and get inside for some safety!

The wound on his hand wasn't like the one on his lip. He could actually feel this. The pain was burning, making his right hand totally useless.

Raisa froze as she stood there staring at the human.

She had bitten him...she had bitten him on the fullmoon while she was in this form.

Panic rose inside of her as her mind began to clear through the pain.

Oh shit...

She took a tentative step back, what was she meant to do? There was no guarantee that this man would survive the transformation, after all in Lycan years she was still very young.

Should she simply put him out of his misery now before the real pain kicked in? No...she didn't want to kill anyone, but at the same time, she had never turned someone before.

FUCK!

Finally he got in his car and slammed the door shut.

He revved the engine, but the car wouldn't start at first. What if he was stuck here with the beast?

When he was a young boy, he'd seen a movie like this.  It was an American movie, based off of a book.  

Cujo.  

The movie hadn't scared him that much when he was younger, but now that he was practically living the situation, he was filled with fear.  

The wolf was huge!  It could move so fast after being hit by a car, who knew what else it could do.  

Tom wasn't a praying man, but in this instant he started muttering the prayers he was taught as a child.  

But he couldn't focus, the burning and horrible pain in his hand starting to spread up his arm.  

This wasn't right!  How was the pain spreading so fast?

Finally the car started up again! The engine finally kicked into gear. Even though the windshield and the front of the car was badly damaged, Tom managed to drive away.

Raisa's sense kicked in a moment too late, the man was driving off.

He couldn't do that, what if he went somewhere populate and transformed, what if he drove to the hospital!

There would be hundreds of defenseless people at the mercy of a enraged newly turned Lycan.

She tried to chase after him, but on three paws catching a car was difficult and she was tiring fast, unable to keep her pace.

Finally she stopped, chasing him this was wasn't an option, instead she bounded toward town on three legs.

By the time she reached Khaliq's apartment blood covered half of her body, deep grazes and cuts running down her arms and legs from where she had slid across the gravel road while underneath the car.

She shifted back, staggering to her feet, one arm falling limply by her side, the bone completely snapped.

"Liq! Fawzi!"

She called out in a panic as she burst through the front door, blinking rapidly as she tried to get the blood out of her eyes.

The siblings had been curled up in the livingroom and had just put a movie in.

The two were singing badly to the opening credits, laughing and nudging each other when Raisa burst in.

Both Necromancers sprung to action as soon as they saw the blood covered woman at the doorway.

it was shame the action of one sibling was less than helpful.

Fawzi had jumped up and began leading Rai to the kitchen so she could drag the first aid kit out. Rai was a Lycan but some of these wounds needed patching up a little to help with the healing process.

Khaliq, however, was less than helpful as he began cursing, following after the two women and asking useless questions.

Finally Fawzi had the sense to ask the most important question of the moment. "What happened?"

Raisa struggled as Fawzi tried to get her inside, she didn't have time for this, her wounds could be tended too later, there were more pressing matters.

"Fawzi no!"

She said sternly, heading back to the doorway as she looked at the two of them pleadingly, desperation evident in her eyes.

"We are running out of time, I have to find him! This is all my fault, I'm so stupid!"

Her words came quickly as a bloodied hand grasped onto Khaliq's wrist, trying to drag him outside.

"Please, we have to find him otherwise..."

A tear slid down her face, it would be all her fault if countless people died tonight.

"I can't run fast enough on three legs, we need to use the car."

She added, the one thing she had done right was leaving her car here for the night.

Fawzi's brows drew together when Raisa denied medical help.

That was ridiculous. She was injured. Really injured.

"Rai, you're not making any sense," the woman muttered. She could feel herself slowly getting more and more tense. Had the woman hit her head when she had been injured? She was babbling about something neither her nor her brother could understand.

Liq, in a callous, but necessary move, gripped Rai's hair and craned her neck so she was looking up at him.

"Slow your ass down and tell us what the fuck is going on," he ordered in a firm voice.

They couldnt help if they didnt know what was going on.

Raisa yelped slightly as she was grabbed looking up at him frantically, but calming slightly under his sternness, enough that she could at least organise her thoughts.

"I was heading here, crossing one of the private roads that leads to the coven, no one is on those roads on the full moon, no one.

He...ran me other with his car, I hit my head on the bumper."

Her gaze hazed slightly as she tried to remember.

"He got out of the car, why the fuck did he get out of the car!"

She stared up at Khaliq, hurt and angry and afraid.

"He was trying to call the police, during the full moon, on a road that runs through pack territory! I had to stop him...
I was only trying to get his phone off of him Liq! I didn't mean to bite him!

I have to find him before he turns!"

"Calm your tits, panicking isn't going to do us any good," he ordered sternly.

Now they had made sense of the situation, they could take action.

"Aodh will be out on the run. Can't call him," Liq murmured. "Call the coven anyway. Tell them that we're going out hunting a new Wolf in town and it could be a potential threat."

Fawzi nodded, immediately abandoning the first aid kit to do so. Both were surprisingly calm for the situation. They'd dealt with wild animals running around their village before. They could deal with this. It was only....slightly more dangerous.

"We're going to go out looking for him. We need your help to track him."

Liq flitted off to get dressed after he pushed Rai down into a chair and told her to sit tight for a moment.

Fawzi, after calling the coven and giving them the low down, called another number.

Answer phone. Shit. "Tom, it's me, Fawzi. I'm calling to tell you to stay indoors tonight. There's been warning of an animal in town and it sounds pretty hostile. Keep yourself inside and safe. I'll call you later."

Raisa sat where she was placed, naked and clutching her broken arm, she was in a considerable amount of pain.

Normally she was as calm as the other two, nothing phased her to the point of panic, but everything had happened far too quickly, her head was still fuzzy, she just wanted to make sure he was okay, who ever he was.

She nodded softly at the instructions.

"I can find him."

She could still taste his blood on her tongue, she could track his scent easily enough through that, it was moving that was the difficult part, the more her body began to relax, the more the adrenaline wore off the more sore she became.

The two were ready in minutes.

Liq scooped the battered and bruised Rai up and headed towards the door. "Keys are on the table, Fawzi. You're driving."

The woman gave a soft hum in answer as she picked up the keys and darted out to the Lycan's car.

"Guess we're calling tonight off, huh?" Liq murmured down to the woman in his arms in a poor attempt at lightening the mood a little.

This was one of the rare times where Raisa would allow Liq to carry her around like this without protest.

"Sadly I think so."

She muttered, feeling a bit more like herself, though her ego was slightly damaged.

"Thank you."

The woman murmured softly as she rested her head against his chest, pressing a small kiss to it.

Tom didn't drive to the hospital. He wasn't thinking clearly, and instead he drove straight home to see if he could fix himself up without any help.

He parked the car in the parking garage and made his way into his apartment. He didn't realize it, but he accidentally smeared some blood on the walls.

He staggered like a drunk man. The pain was intoxicating. It flooded more than just his arm now. It had taken over his entire torso and was starting to get to his head and legs.

He let out a groan, his vision blurry from the agony his body was experiencing. He stumbled to get his keys into the lock, getting blood on the door to his apartment. He was accidentally leaving a trail that would be easy for Raisa and the others to figure out where he was without a doubt.

As soon as he was in his apartment he closed the door and stumbled into the kitchen. He turned on the sink and started trying to wash the blood away. His hands trembled and his body would't stop shivering.

That wolf wasn't normal. This bite wasn't normal. Something was very, very wrong. One little bite should not be doing this to him.

He moved over to get some painkillers out of his cupboard, but his legs gave out and he fell to the floor.

He didn't have the strength to get up.

The man tried to call for help but all that escaped was another pain filled groan.

"I'm dying." he thought with horror.

The man snorted softly.

"Thank me again when you're feeling better and I take away the one thing you'll be dying for."

The car peeled out of its parking spot quickly. Fawzi didn't follow the speed limits. They didn't have time right now. They had to find this Wolf before it injured anyone.

"Need directions, Rai," the woman called out into the back, eyes flickering up to the mirror so she could gaze at the woman curled up in her brother's lap.

She ignored his little threat, right now she needed to focus.
"Liq, open the window."
Once the window was down she adjusted herself in his lap, her head resting against the door as she took in the scent of the air.

It was faint at the moment but she could smell him.

"Next left."

She instructed, every few moments she took deep breaths, each time she did the smell of his blood drew closer and closer.

They continued to move, left then right, right again until they passed a large apartment complex on the edge of town.

"Fawzi stop!"

She called out, as she sat up, staring out the window, she could smell him so strongly, his blood must be smeared all over the place.

"There, apartment number six."

Raisa tried to scramble out of Liq's lap, she needed to get to him now before it was too late.

Fawzi pressed her foot to the breaks when Rai yelled out.

She didn't even bother to park the car properly. It was the dead of night in a not to popular area of the city. There wouldn't be too many cars driving down this road. They were safe enough to just leave the car here.

Khaliq held onto the Lycan firmly as he slid out of the car, pulling Rai to her feet and holding her still for a moment.

He lifted one hand from Rai's shoulder to pull a sheathed knife out of his back pocket, tossing it towards Fawzi. She caught it with ease.

The two kept some form of protection in case they couldnt concentrate enough to draw on their powers. Liq had picked them up when he had gone to pull some clothes on. Two very dangerous, sharp hunting knives.

"He's still alive."

She muttered as she gazed at the house, she could smell him, hear his heart beating frantically, even at this distance.

If she could get to him, if she could talk him through the transformation and calm him down, everything might be alright.

She had to stop him from getting enraged or panicking, if that proved impossible then he would have to be put down, there was no way they would be able to drag a new lycan out into the open.

The woman winced as she heard him groan in pain, a noise no one else would be able to hear.

"He's turning, we have to get in there now."

"All right then," Liq sighed.

"Let's get this over and done with."

Neither sibling were happy about the idea of being in the same room as a turning Lycan, but they couldn't just stand outside as an injured Rai tried to take care of him.

The two padded forwards, Liq holding onto Raisa carefully, reading to catch her of she stumbled or dropped.

Raisa rested some of her weight onto Liq, the blood loss had left her feeling weary.

As they got closer it became evident why the smell was so strong, his blood was smeared over the walls, trailing into the house.

The door was unlocked so she walked in with reckless abandon, even if she was hurt, she was still stronger than a newly made pup, if need be she could fight him.

There he was, laying on the kitchen floor.

She pulled free of Liq's grasp, she didn't want him getting closer than he needed to.

Raisa approached slowly, as if confronting and injured and cornered beast.

"It's alright, I'm here, I'm going to help you."

She called to the man as she inched closer to his writhing body.

Tom could hardly process anything that was happening in the moment.

He heard a woman's voice and turned to look at her. Sweat was dripping down his brow, his teeth were clenched, his body shivering.

He looked very panicked, it was clear he had no idea what was happening to him.

How could he?

Everything supernatural had been myth to him up until this moment in his life.
