[C] Only Six

"Favouritsm is frowned upon by those pure of heart. You're just taking the runt?"

The other five would be heartbroken.

They definitely hadn't bonded with Lucifer like they had with Deme.

A small smile graced his lips as he looked over the fluff balls currently covering him.

"I'll take them all if I can, I just figured that you'd want them."

He had thought that Lucifer would take them with him when he left, the affectionate one was gone, he had Zara, he thought the 'good' ones would have to go back at some point.

"What use would I have for them?"

They were just Hounds. There would be a hundred back home that he could pick up and train again.

Its all he ever did. Find new Hounds to train, then let them go.

"I'll keep them all then."

He decided, his smile widening and he nestled down with them.

"Since they're mine, I get to give them names."

If Lucifer didn't want them that meant he didn't have to abide by his training rules.

Each one would have it's own name from now on.

"I won't feed your desire to make them individuals."

It wasn't a denail, though. Demetri could name them if he truly wanted to.

Lucifer just wouldn't have a part in it.

He had no interest in naming and forming bonds with creature that wouldn't stay with him.

"They're already individuals, animals or not they have their own unique personalities."

It was plain to see that none of them was the same as another, not even close.

"Not that it matters if you call them by their names or not, I will."

"If you insist."

It really didn't matter to Lucifer whether Deme insisted on calling them names that he wouldn't even care to remember.

"Tomorrow you will start the next chapter."

Demetri gave a soft whine.

"Can't I enjoy a few days of freedom before I hide away in that room for another week?"

He asked, rolling onto his stomach to look over at Lucifer.

He'd been locking himself away for a week at a time, the solitude helped his ancestral voices come back and it was that which aided him the most with getting all this work done.

"At the rate I'm going at the moment I'll have the book translated by the end of the year."

"No."

Demetri's sole purpose at the moment was to get that book translated.

"Good. Make sure it is done."

By the end of the year was a good thing.

"But I thought because...its..."

Demetri stumbled over his words but fell silent with a small pout as he nestled into the bed.

He'd enjoy one night back here before heading back into the room to study.

Tomorrow he'd have the gather another weeks worth of supplies and head back into the room for the next chapter.

He gave a heavy sigh and cuddled in against Zara's fluffy neck.
