[C] Doors Cause Headaches Empty
PostSubject: [C] Doors Cause Headaches   [C] Doors Cause Headaches EmptyFri Aug 14, 2015 4:56 am

Spiro leant against the check-out counter and rubbed his temples to try and alleviate the building headache.

Who knew how hard it was to get someone competent to replace a damaged door?

He'd been on the phone non-stop for the best part of two hours and had finally ended the conversation five minutes ago.

Why did he even keep replacing his bedroom door? What was the point?

Spiro huffed and straightened out, trying to push away any thoughts of his broken bedroom door and his nasty headache. Hopefully there'd be someone coming in store soon to distract him further.

Whatever higher power there was must have been feeling pity for the poor Spiro, because as if on cue, the little bell that sounded when someone came into the shop jingled.

Instead of the usual customer being some adorable mother with an equally adorable little one, this customer was a massive, looming man with an itty bitty baby carrier.

The man looked around, appearing to be a bit lost.  He made his way up to the counter that Spiro was at.

"I need baby powder and diaper wipes." He said, getting right to the point.

The small infant in the baby carrier was wrapped up in blankets and had a little cap on his head.  Just a little bit of his thick black hair stuck out from under the hat.  The baby carrier had it's top pulled up, serving as a way to protect the little guy from the sun's rays.

A polite smile spread onto Spiro's lips automatically when Tahir entered his store. Tahir wasn't the first father Spiro had seen shopping here. He wasn't even the first large, somewhat rough looking man he'd seen. There were a lot of different types of parents in the city and Spiro had seen them all; from scared and alone teenage mothers, to single biker-dad fathers that looked like they'd rather punch a skull in than hold an infant.

He moved around the counter, his ar out in the direction of the isle full of nappies and other such sanitary essentials. "I'm Spiro Cosse and I'll be serving you today. What you're looking for is right over here."

His gaze dropped to the carrier and he smiled softly. "You've got a beautiful baby," he complimented.

Tahir was very new to being a parent.  He wasn't sure what to expect.  He'd only ever been a brother before.  Being a father was far different.

One of the things he hadn't been expecting was getting compliments on the little person he had helped create.

He looked down at Jem, who was just starting to open his eyes and look around.

"Thank you." The man said, and his tone gave away that he wasn't used to having people dote over his child.  First time parent was written all  over his face.

With Jem now awake, he set the carrier down and unbuckled the baby from it, bringing Jem up to his chest and holding him securely.

"Would you like some help?" Spiro asked kindly.

He knew the terrified new parent look when he saw it. He'd worn it himself at one point and saw it pretty much evey day.

He'd bought this place to help other new parents out as much as he could. As such, he was more than willing to help Tahir if the man wanted that help.

Tahir looked at Spiro with a bit of suspicion.

"Help with what?" He asked, his son barely visible underneath his large hand.

"Picking out the best products to choose," Spiro suggested lightly.

He tilted his head slightly and offered up another friendly smile. "I'll be behind the counter if you need anything. Don't hesitate to ask."

After othe friendly smile, Spiro turned to make his way back towards the counter.
