Sacha held up a finger to half Dick's urging. If he was going to do this, he was going to do this right.

"I'm taking this horse by the reins

Sacha sounded truly French for the first time as he sang. He spoke with a cultured British accent when he spoke English, and a thick mixed accent when he spoke Italian. It was hard to believe he was actually French. But his accent was thick and perfect as he sang.

"And I'm never gonna stop until I make ‘em drop
And burn ‘em up and scatter the remains
I'm—Lafayette!
Watch me engaging ‘em, escaping ‘em, enraging ‘em, ow"

Dick made a delighted noise as Sacha sang.

"I think you should be dancing too."

Okay, maybe he wasn't going make this issue rest.

"I go to France for more funds."

Lafayette

"I come back with more guns
And ships
And so the balance shifts

We rendezvous with Rochambeau
Consolidate their gifts
We can end this war at Yorktown, cut them off at sea, but
For this to succeed, there is someone else we need."

Sacha panted and shook his head. He wasn't dancing.

"Sir, he knows what to do in the trench
Ingenuitive and fluent in French, I mean."

Sacha wriggled his brows.

"Sir, you're going to have to use him eventually
What's he going to do on the bench, I mean

No one has more resilience
Or matches my practical, tactical brilliance
You want to fight for your land back?"

I need my right-hand man back

Sacha exhaled deeply and rubbed his jaw. Singing that fast was hard.

Dick gave a clap as Sacha stopped and rubbed his jaw, impressed. He couldn't entirely keep up just listening. 

"Let's hear that again. Maybe this time on your feet?"

"Not on your life. If you want to dance, tackle the cat and embarrass your boyfriend."

Sacha gestured to Fleck, who arched a brow in response.

He didn't think Dick would win that battle.

"You're both boring," he said, very aware he was refusing to dance just over a couple of minutes ago, "and I enjoy having arms."

He wasn't about to tackle the cat.

Neither Sacha or Fleck seemed particularly hurt by the jab. Oh no, they were boring? How would either of them survive?

"You scared of this fluffball?" Fleck scooped up the cat and held her out towards Dick.

She seemed perfectly content to be held until she opened her eyes and saw Dick. Then she hissed.

Dick narrowed his eyes.

"A fluffball with claws who decided she hates me now. Did she decide that she hated vampires now? Is that it?"

He pulled a face at the cat, well out of claws reach.

Dick being out of reach didn't stop her from trying. She swiped the air and hissed again.

"She never was a fan of Vampires, this one," Sacha informed, scratching the top of her head gently.

"What does she think we're going to do- wait, don't answer that one."

There are enough crappy horror films and trashy romance novels to answer that one. Plus, personal experience.

"She's always been jumpy around most supes. Witches, she doesnt mind much, but she tends to steer clear of Vampires and Werewolves particularly."

Sacha rubbed her ear gently and she began purring, leaning into his touch, even as she dangled from Fleck's hands.

"Sorry, Dick. You're just not her favourite."

"But she was so fine earlier. She booped my nose when we met!"

He would call it a highlight, but Sacha's hangover cure in the form of crepes was it.

"Please don't leave me for her," he huffed to Fleck.

"What? No she didn't."

Sacha's brows were drawn in confusion. She hadn't booped his nose.

"I'm not leaving you," Fleck assured.

Dick squinted and shrugged.

"Or something similar. Either way, she was an angel in disguise who didn't try to rip my face off."

He started scratching the nape of Fleck's neck again. 

"I appreciate that."

"No, she- ah!"

Sacha nudged Dick off his lap and stood. He set his glass down then headed towards the hallway. "Wait here!"

A few minutes later he returned, his arms full of fluff.

Three cats that looked almost exactly the same as the cat in Fleck's arms stared back at Dick.

"Purple's hiding under the bed again. I can't grab him."

Dick placed his glass on the counter and reached his arms out.

"When the fuck did you have - one two three four - four cats! Wait," Purple, "five!"

He looked accusingly to the demon in Fleck's arms. 

"You're not Poisson."

Sacha plopped his armful of cats onto the couch.

Two of them joined the other on Fleck's lap. The third shook herself out and crawled into Dick's lap, stretching up to press her nose to Dick's chin.

"That's Ange. The other two are Daimonas and Winkie."

Feeling much more loved, he cooed and gently scratched the sides of her face.

"Sacha, what the fuck." 

He pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

"How the hell did you hide them all?"

"I...didn't? I've been sending you pictures of these four for how long? I hardly ever get pics of Purple, though. He's built his little empire under the bed and hardly ever comes out."

He'd never hidden the fact that he had all these cats.

Why would he?

"Never together, and I just assumed you just... had different names for the same cat."

That didn't make a lot of sense, but he just put it down as Sacha being Sacha. 

"I'm so sorry for confusing you with your sister. You were so sweet to me. You didn't deserve that."

Poisson huffed against Dick's chin, then flopped down into his lap, rolling onto her back.

In Fleck's lap, Winkie had taken to chewing on Ange's ear. Ange's tail was flicking sharply. A fight was close to breaking out.

Sacha wasn't that worried though. He just shoved Dai's butt out of the way and flopped down in his place again.

Dick made an impressed noise as she flopped. He fussed her fluffy chest.

"Forget the wine, you might be one cat short."

He really didn't have doubts that Sacha would put a stop to it there at any means necessary.

"I really will fight you for these girls."

He tapped his thigh and Dai bounced over the two scrapping cats to sit in his lap.

She chirruped and he rubbed at her sides.

Dick turned his attention to Dai and held a hand out to see if she would hate him like Ange. 

Looking at them all together as a group and not one at a time through a phone screen, their differences were a little more clear. Some more than others.

"Did you get them all together?"

Dai sniffed at Dick's hand, and eyed him warily, but didn't hiss or run, which was a good sign in Sacha's books.

"Nah. Dai, Ange and Winkie are all Poisson's babes. Purple's their daddy."

He scratched at Dai's neck and she began to purr.
