"Wonderful."

He was too busy concentrating on the game that he did not realise that he slipped up and spoke in a native language.

"Fuck." He missed another step. For God's sake.

And before he could get a good combo, the game was over.

He breath was more laboured now, and he pushed a few loose stands of hair off his forehead.

He lost. Again.

That little cheerful tune and bubbly music was getting on his nerves now.

Ti giggled as the man grunted in his native language.

The tone insinuated what he said. Ti didn't need to know the language to guess what he had said.

"You did well," the boy murmured.

His gaze turned up to the man as he leaned against the bar again, trying to get his breath back. Playing three fast-paced songs in a row was hard-hitting.

"Do I get the 'Best Effort' badge then?"

He crossed his arms and sulked like the man-child he was.

"Your ballet put you at an advantage, probably."

That was the closest Ti would probably get to Amr admitting someone was better than him at video games.

Amr dug his hand in his pocket again, only to be disappointed to find copper.

"Looks like that is the last game."

"Uh-huh." Ti smiled brightly. "A gold star for effort."

The boy nodded a little. "That and I'm on this machine more than anything else." He seriously loved this machine.

His smile brightened.

"I'm good at this game."

"I can tell."

And annoyed and sulk-y he was, he still had to smile back.

"Shall we head back now? I have no money."

That was a point. That money was suppose to be fore a taxi. Looked like he was walking now. Hopefully Ti will keep him company.

"We totally need to come back tough. So I can beat you. This was only a warm up."
