[C] Reunion

Alexis walked down the quiet streets of Catania, the night was warm, it made for a pleasant change.

Even still, held softly against her chest, bundled up in a blanket was little Jem.

The boy had been steadily growing, becoming quite strong, it made his father pleased, the man seemed less worried about hurting the boy accidentally.

Though Tahir always worried about her and their baby, he was quite a funny man that way.

Tahir was out tonight, spending some much needed time with his sister, so they had come down to witness the night life, plus with Jem growing so quickly, he needed some new clothes before he grew out of them.

It seemed she was buying him new clothing every week now, not that she minded at all.

They had a stop before they went into the stores though. The woman moved toward the park, her movements naturally elegant as he long silver hair caught the breeze behind her.

The two sat down on the grass, setting the small boy in her lap as he nuzzled against her, giving a small whine as she pulled a bottle from her bag and placed it in his mouth.

Gerhard was feeling more relaxed and sated after having his fun with the human boy he actually decided to let live. Mostly because he was astounded at the pain tolerance that Den had. It was impressive and Gerhard wasn't impressed easily. So he allowed the human to live to see another day... though sore and scared.

He decided he would get back to why he came here, to try and find his Sire.

He was able to locate the coven through some connections he had. He had heard rumors that Alexis resided there.

This he could believe.

What he didn't believe were the rumors that Alexis had found herself a mate and started a family.

The powerful, bloodthirsty woman he knew was not a homemaker.

Part of him was worried that maybe he'd tracked down a different Alexis Rozen vampire. He'd lived to see stranger coincidences. And it wasn't impossible that she'd been successfully hunted down... though there still was a bounty on her head. He doubted it.

He decided to go out and hunt for the coven, but he didn't get very far when a glimmer of silver hair caught his eye.

His head turned quickly and he saw her there, sitting in the grass. Her back was to him, so he couldn't see what she was doing. But he could tell that this was, without a doubt, his sire.

He caught the scent of a lycan as well.

Quietly he walked up behind her, and that's when he caught sight of the healthy baby boy in her lap.

"Also ... die Gerüchte sind wahr." He said, his voice void of emotion.

"So... the rumors are true."

Fifty years ago if you had told Alexis that she would be settling down and having a family she would've laughed in your face, before swiftly removing your face from your skull.

Time changes many things and though she was still and angry and spiteful woman, she had been quelled.

Being able to look past her anger and find happiness where ever possible was not something she regretted at all.

Alexis' head turned up at the familiar voice, her once scarlet eyes had changed, taking on a bright golden hue.

"Gerhard..."

She muttered, her head tilting slightly as she gazed at him.

"So you've finally found me."

Her voice was leveled, she rarely gave away how she truly felt, though seeing the man here was not a surprise, she knew he had been looking for her.

"Disappointed?"

She asked as she looked back down at her child, stroking his jet black hair softly.

She seemed so much more calm then she had before. She was so well adjusted, so... normal. Even her eyes had changed. The craving for violence and suffering was gone.

Yes... yes he was utterly disappointed. He'd never have thought his Sire would go soft.

He tried to hide his disgust.

"Ist das ein Werwolf?" He asked, staring at the baby. What had possessed Alexis to have ever wanted to be with a lycan?

Such filthy creatures.

"Is that a lycan?"

[Italics = German]

He didn't have to bother hiding his disgust, she could feel it rolling off of him in waves.

"Half Lycan, half Vampire."

She replied as she pulled the bottle away from his mouth, holding him against her as she petted his back.

With her child safely in her arms she rose, looking up at the man who stood far taller than herself.

"Do you have a problem with that?"

She asked, her voice turning cold as her eyes flash scarlet, a short flash of her old self emerging, it was a threat, a very open threat and it was directed at him.

She may be calm now, but if he threatened Jem in anyway, fledgling or not, she would end him horrifically.

As she stood and he saw the scarlet flash in her eyes, a grin spread across Gerhad's face.

So she was still in there, not very far down from the surface. All one had to do was scratch and she'd be there.

"I had merely thought you'd have better taste in who you chose to mate with. Lycan's are a lesser species than Vampires." He said, his voice still calm.

He firmly believed it too. Vampires had more control over their bodies then lycans did. They were more elegant, had more tact. Lycans were like the cavemen of supernatural beings.

His poor Alexis must have been desperate.

Alexis was a very able woman, able meaning she would easily able to hold Jem in one arm and grab Gerhard around the throat roughly with the other, digging her nails into his flesh as she squeezed tightly.

Her eyes, now burning blood red.

"There is one creature that is lesser than both Vampires and Lycan. Humans. You were human once, until I made you, do not forget your place Gerhard."

She replied, her voice low and stern as she started at him.

"My mate is a wonderful man, Lycan or not you will not mutter another word about him, unless you want to lose your tongue."

He didn't flinch when she dug her nails into him. He didn't resist her either. He was smarter then that.

As he stared into her blood red eyes, he looked so... thrilled.

He had been so disappointed that she had gone soft. To find that she hadn't brought him joy.

"Of course, Fraulein" He said, his voice calm.

She was right of course.

Without her he'd be dead and gone by now, his human body would have withered away with age... That is, if the war hadn't got him first.

Her anger was quelled slightly by his submission, he knew better than to oppose her.

"Good."

She replied, a soft smile curling at her lips as her hand released him, yet softly stroked over his throat.

"I've missed you Gerhard."

She added, they had enjoyed each others company for a long time, and they had been separated even longer.

"Why have you come looking for me?"

The man was able to mature faster then other vampires. His power grew quicker, his skill more refined than most his age.

But still he knew he'd be no match for Alexis.

"It seems that I have followed in your footsteps, my dear." He said, the odd smile not leaving his face.

"I have a rather high bounty on my head in Germany. As much as I love the motherland, it was time to leave her." He explained.

Alexis gave a soft chuckle and shook her head, of course he had, she hadn't expected him to do anything less.

When she had left him she had told him to stay alive, not to behave himself.

"A fair enough reason, will you be joining me up at the coven then?"

She asked, tilting her head a little as she looked up at him, silently hopeful.

"I've lived here for quite some time now and with Tony running the coven, Hunters don't dare come near."

Gerhard gave a single nod in response.

He knew that if Alexis had found a place where she didn't have to worry about fending off bounty hunters, he'd be able to trust it.

He allowed a moment of silence. Even in all the time that the two were together, Ger was never really much for small talk.

And though he knew that Alexis was still in there, she had considerably changed.

It was like she was a different person on the surface, with a sickeningly cute baby depending on her for survival.

He'd find a way to expose her true nature more often.

A smart way that wouldn't end up with his head mounted on her wall.

She didn't mind that he rarely talked, he didn't need to talk for her to know exactly what he was thinking.

"I had to adapt in order to survive."

She muttered before looking down at Jem and stroking his jet black hair.

The path she had been on would only lead her to her grave.

If she hadn't found a way to hide her nature, she would end up dead, it just so happened that adapting had suited her well.

Ger nodded again.

"It will take some getting used to Fraulein." He said in a low voice.

If she was able to change, it made him wonder if he would ever adapt to end up like she did. A family man. The thought was as humerus as it was sickening to Gerhard.

"I have to warn you though, the coven is not simply Vampires, Lycan and Elves live there too, among other creatures.

Some are older and stronger than me so you must at least try to be civil."

It wouldn't be an easy task for the man, she knew that, but it was only fair to offer him this warning.

Alexis moved to sit back on the grass, setting Jem in her lap as the boy contently went back to sleep now that he was fed.

Gerhard could have guessed that, seeing as how Alexis was mating with a lycan now.

Why couldn't things be the way they should? Lycans and Vampres segregated from each other so that the pure could remain pure and the filthy beasts stay just that. All this intermingling was disgusting to Gerhard.

"I've assumed as much." Was all he said.

He wondered if he could start his own coven, for only pure creatures. Surely he wasn't the only one who had a disdain for the other supernaturals.

"I'll try not to kill anyone without proper justification." He added, a tint of humor in his voice.

"Good boy."

She praised with a small nod, it would cause trouble if her fledgling went around slaying Lycan.

"It is easy living here, everything if provided for us by the Vampire Giacinto.

Blood is kept available at the coven, though you are welcome to hunt in town, you can not bring your meals home though."

Humans were not allowed inside their walls.

Alexis was the only one in the world that could get away with telling him what to do and the like. Anyone else and he'd go ballistic.

"I've never been a fond of easy." He said flatly.

He would hunt the people of Catania and have his kill to survive.

"I must admit I miss the thrill of killing my prey."

She replied with pursed lips, she would have to starting hunting again for the fun.

The woman gave a soft little chuckle as something came to mind.

"Aeker is living here too."

She muttered, looking up at the man, the male half of the Rozen twins had caught the man's eye not that long ago.

That might cheer the man up somewhat, she had caught the fledgling looking longingly at the brother when ever he would appear, his presence was always fleeting at best at the fledglings mood would always sour when he inevitably disappeared again.

Gerhard never did have the chance of bedding Aeker, not for lack of trying.

"Then why don't you?" He asked rather flatly. "Please tell me you're not a stay-at-home broad."

He chose not to respond to the fact that she even dared mention her twin brothers name.

The only reaction she got out of that was his snippy attitude and the tightening of his lip.

If she had wanted to cheer him up, it unfortunately had the opposite effect.

Gerhard was very bitter over the one that got away.

Instead of getting mad she simply chuckled, he was so sour these days.

"Not interested in seeing him? That's probably for the best."

Aeker had always been a lot milder than Alexis, he didn't have that need to simply kill.

He was far more dangerous than she was, but he contained it well through his calm demeanor.

She ignored his question and kept on the subject of her brother.

The man's nose curled slightly.

"Not in the slightest." He answered, his tone darkening.

"Good, I don't think you would be pleased with what you saw anyway."

She replied with a knowing smile.

Gerhard was still sore about being rejected, more than once. Her brother was a fleeting being who seemed to appear and disappear at will, it was something the Fledgling had let slip through his fingers.

The twins were just one big disappointment after the other.

How could things change so much in such a short period of time?

It wasn't being rejected that Gerhard was sore about.

It was being too weak to take control despite the rejection that had him so bitter.

The more people rejected him, the more fun it was for him to dominate them.

But Aeker, he was strong. Stronger then his sister.

Gerhard was sure that there would be no point in his life where he'd be able to over power Aeker and make him a beautiful pet.

And that drove him mad.

When Aeker disappeared with Maccon and Darragh, Aodh was usually left fatally bored.

Tonight was no exception.

So the Lycan decided he would go and find out what trouble was to be had. Aodh felt like causing trouble. Scare a few humans, piss off some Necromancers, ruin the night of a Vampire or two.

That need only burned brighter when he spied Alexis sat on the grass.

Aodh sidled up to the woman's back purposefully. He moved to sit down behind her, his chest pressed to her back, his thighs parted either side of her. He wrapped his arms around her, sparing Jem a gentle stroke to the cheek.

Aodh leaned forwards to nip her ear gently. He still held a lover's familiarity with her.

"Hey, kitty-cat," he chuckled softly, nuzzling against her. His silver gaze flickered up to Gerhard in disinterest.
