Spooky Scary Skeletons [C]

"We can go get a drink as soon as we're done in here."

He reached over and snagged one of the spray cans and read the label for a second before shaking it up. "This'll only take a couple minutes."

And it did. Fleck was quick and meticulous with coating Dick's hair with the black. He set the can down and began fluffing up Dick's hair, arranging it a little better. "Y'know your hairs kinda a fluffy mess. Blow drying it and giving it a good cut could do it some good."

Deciding that this was the best he could do without taking the scissors so it, and knowing that Dick would squawk if he even suggested it, Fleck reached forwards for the mask set on the counter and a little bottle that looked similar to a yellow tinted transparent nail polish.

He applied the gum to the back of the mask in a few strategic places, then carefully pressed it to Dick's face. "Gonna feel a little strange at first as it dries, but you'll get used to it. Promise."

Dick watched in fascination as his hair was transformed from golden to black. He was surprised - and grateful - with how fast and efficient Fleck was.

Once Fleck was done Dick turned his head side to side. The black hair looked so strange on him. He never saw himself with anything but his golden locks. Despite the strangeness, he found himself almost liking it. Even if it washed out his skin.

"My hair is perfectly fine with a home-cut and air dry."

By home cut, he meant attacking his own hair with scissors so it kinda of looked like a choppy bob.

He frowned and turned to watch Fleck as he put glue on the mask.

"Why can't we just use string?" He grumbled, scrunching up his nose as the mask was placed on his face. It felt horrible. He clenched his hand to stop himself from ripping it off.

"Are we done now?" He asked eagerly, shockingly blue eyes looking up to Fleck hopefully.

"It is," Fleck agreed. And truthfully he did. He liked Dicks look. He really did, but there was so much more he could do with it. "But I'd love to see what it looks like taken care of."

"You complain more than the toddlers," he chuckled, leaning down to silence Dick with a kiss as he held the mask in place while the gum dried.

"All done, Robin. Take a look at yourself."

"I complain a respectable amount for someone who was happy just wearing a shirt."

With Fleck's permission, he turned to look in the mirror. His eyes widened in surprise. The person in the mirror looked nothing like himself. From the clothes to the dark hair. The mask empathized the blue of his eyes.

"I've got to admit," he leaned in closer, "you did a good job."

He turned back around again. "So who am I suppose to be again? Red Robin, right?"

"You complained more than me, and I got bombarded by three of my brothers to get me into this. You came willingly."

He'd literally had three of his brothers dragging him around and holding him down as his hair was dyed and he was forced into this outfit. He'd been more than happy to y'know, not look as obsessive as the rest of his family, but that wasn't an option.

"Uh-huh. Tim Drake, the third Robin, after he stopped being a regular Robin."

"Only to impress your family. At least we are suffering together."

He was surprised. Seeing Fleck walk confidently around in the costume he thought he put it on willingly.

"Not a very creative name change, is it?"

He took another glance at himself in the mirror and tugged at the costume in hope it would miraculously become looser.

"Are we done here?"

Fleck had enough body confidence to pull off being able to walk around in such a tight costume, even if he didn't want to wear it.

"Ah, don't speak badly of the former Robins, lest ye be attacked by the die hard fans."

"Mmm, not quite yet." His large body crowded Dick, pushing him back against the counter and leaning down to press his lips to Dick's, hot and hard.

His breath hitched as he was pushed against the counter.

"Fleck-" The kiss cut him off. He froze. Mind black and knuckles turned white as he gripped the counter. A heartbeat later he kissed back just as eagerly. Hands lifting off the counter to interlock behind Fleck's neck to pull him closer.

His hands found Dick's hips, giving them a little squeeze before pulling back with a crooked smirk.

"Now we're done here. Wanna go socialise?"

He inhaled sharply as his hips were squeezed, face flushed. As Fleck pulled away his brows knitted into a frown.

"I hate you so much right now."

He wanted to wipe that smirk right off Fleck's face. Preferably with a kiss.

Unlocking his hands he dropped them back down. Although, all he wanted to do is run them down Fleck's arm and admire the muscles.

"Mhmmm, that's definitely hate making those cheeks pink."

He leaned forwards to press a kiss to Dick's very pink cheek. "C'mon, let's go show you off."

He nudged Dick from the room and began leading him down the hall.

They were passed in the hall by Duke, carrying a young child dressed as Robin on his back. Fleck laughed, as the little Robin clung to Duke's red collar and called out: "faster, Titus!"

He didn't like the words 'show it'. It suggested that Dick may possibly be the centre of attention and he would rather not. After walking around the house and seeing just how many people were here he hoped that they will all be so used to having boyfriends and girlfriends over that it has become uninteresting.

He frowned as a kids raced along on the dog. Surely that wasn't safe.

"I thought that dog was called Duke?"

"Tonight he's Titus."

Fleck claimed not to be a huge fan of comic books, but with his family, he knew a lot more than the common not-fan.

So he explained. "Titus is one of the Robin's great dane."

The kitchen was their first stop, and Fleck found himself a bottle of cider, and poured Dick a glass of wine.

"Another Robin?"

How many Robins were there?

He kept close to Fleck. He still felt horribly uncomfortable and a bit of a twat in the suit. Although Fleck was right, the mask was oddly comforting. Even if it was irritating.

His lips quirked into a smile as Fleck poured him a glass of wine. It was nice to know he knew what he liked.

He took the glass gratefully with thanks. Taking a sip he wished he could down it for dutch courage. He was pretty sure that wouldn't leave a good impression.

"Yup. Batman's son. A grumpy little shit with a love for animals."

He took a deep pull from his bottle, and ended up snorting a laugh that made the cider spurt from his nose when a man wearing a red hood with a red bat symbol on his chest approached and greeted them with a "hey, it's Dick squared."

"Ia!" Fleck whined, jerking his cider from him and coughing as he tried to get rid of the bubbly liquid in his nasal canal.

"Huh?"

His attention was only on the man for a second before it was back to a choking Fleck. Dick took a step to the side to avoid any of the drink spurting out of his boyfriend's nose and mouth.

"Should I get you a tissue or something?"

He was concerned. He just didn't want cider snot all over himself.

"Yeah, please." His voice sounded nasally.

Fleck gestured towards the kitchen counter that housed the the kitchen roll while Ia gave him a hearty thump on his back.

"You're a dick, Ia." He set his cider bottle down and thumped his brother's arm. Hard.

He grabbed a couple of towels then passed them to Fleck so he could clean himself up.

He turned his attention back to the other man. Ia, he assumed. He looked at the batman symbol on his chest than at the red hood. How did he see through that?

"Are you another Robin?" He asked.

"Thanks." He wiped at his face then blew his nose a couple times before he was satisfied.

"Well, I was before the Joker killed me, yeah," came the reply from behind the red mask. "Now I go by the Red Hood."

"The writers aren't very creative when they come up with names, are they?"

They seem to like the word red. Although the character Fleck was dressed up as was a bit more creative, name wise. The costume was better too, but he won't let his mind stray.

"It was all designed to be simple so the kids wouldn't struggle remembering a hundred complicated names." Ia crossed his arms over his chest, not quite as broad as his younger brother's. "I wouldn't make any more comments like that, though. Them's fighting words in this house."

And tonight of all nights, fight might actually happen.

"Okay, Todd, off you go. We're gonna go see Chrys then Im gonna introduce Dick to ma and dad."

Fighting a family he was trying to make a good impression in front of was the last thing he wanted to do. He made a mental note not to question or disagree with anything - including comic's.

He took a sip of wine at the mention of Fleck's ma and dad. The feelings of dread quickly returning.

"Sure. Tell the flower boy I said hi."

Fleck snorted. "Flower boy? He's twice your age, dork," he countered, dropping one arm around Dick's shoulders and picking up his cider with the other hand.

Then he led Dick outside, into the crow of Flashes.

"Hey, Chrys, Ia's cruising again," he called out to the willow blond man wrapped up in tight red spandex.

Dick raised an eyebrow. Flower boy?

He had a feeling that he was going to be on the outside of a lot of inside jokes tonight.

When Fleck wrapped his arm around his shoulders his own wrapped around Fleck's waist.

As they stepped outside he recognised the man as the one from the beach. A little bit of guilt wash over him all other again.

"You would think he'd learn by now not to press my buttons," came the amused rumbling reply from the man crouched next to one of the kids out in the garden.

He drew to his full impressive height and strolled forwards. "Dick, it's good to see you again."

Fleck gave Dick's shoulders a little squeeze with his strong arm. He knew Dick was going to start feeling really uncomfortable with all this meeting people.
