[O] The Elven Elder Empty
PostSubject: [O] The Elven Elder   [O] The Elven Elder EmptySun Dec 08, 2013 4:20 pm

The day was warm though a pleasantly cool breeze swept through the trees, making for a rather enjoyable afternoon.

The High-Elf sat alone in the field that the Lycan used during the fullmoon.

Aleksandr had taken Chester out to run about in the woods so they could have their first hunting lesson. He adored those two men but hunting game didn't spark his interest so he let them have this time to themselves as he lay sprawled out in the long, lush grass.

A book sat propped up against his chest which he read silently, enjoying the serenity of the forest.

The forest had proven too attractive to leave for the mansion yet. Atlas know how to survive in the woods. Perhaps he didn't have to leave it at all and face socialising. Despite Fabian's warning, he still wandered around as a deer - only two feet high with a small dark nose and large ears, that flagged up when his feet touched the edge of a clearing. More like a meadow, he amended. It was too big to be called a simple clearing.

He dipped his head to sweep his nose across the ground, freezing like a true deer when his eyes caught on the other elf. Had they noticed him? If they had, it was possible they would mistake him as a usual deer.. but as an elf, they would realise that this type of deer did not usually hang out in this region.

He remained still, uncertain of how to react.

Every living thing in the forest knew Lycus well, the plants and animals all reacted to his presence, he was a guardian here, ensuring its survival.

After certain events had taken place the forest rejoiced every time the High-Elf entered, even now if you were to listen closely you could hear the trees exchanging excited whispers.

Each blade of grass in the meadow bent their blades toward the Elf, forming a circle at which he was at the center.

He ignored these reactions now, the forest would calm down sooner or later.

Lycus was always aware of his surroundings, even as a small deer stumbled into the clearing, it held no scent other than that of the forest, it's aura was the wrong colour and it was entirely the wrong breed for this area.

The Elf didn't even lift his gaze from the book he was reading as he addressed it.

"It's best not to linger like that, all by yourself, Lycan are hunting at the moment and they will be drawn here soon enough."

If Chester and Aleksandr came bounding over they may mistake the deer as food, more so if they had the thrill of the hunt.

The large brown ears flicked forward when he was addressed. At least, he presumed it was him being spoken to, although the other elf never looked up.

He had never seen the forest react to an elf the way it was now. There was nothing menacing about it, but it unnerved him all the same. He was worried about approaching, but the promise (threat?) of the Lycans had him taking hesitant, dainty steps toward the other figure.

"I'm not going to harm you."

He Elf muttered, finally placing his book down as his gaze turned up to the small deer.

Lycus' eyes were an icy shade of blue, and much like their colour they seemed cold.

"My name is Lycustheos, I'm the Elven Elder here."

Most Elves knew of him, he was one of the oldest Elves in existence, having risen up during a time when their species were hunted by Lycan and Vampire alike.

He had made a legend of himself when he was the first Elf to ever take Lycans as slaves and turning the tides, stopping the extinction of the Elven race.

This of course was not a legacy he would boast about any more, not since things with Aleksandr had changed.

Atlas steeled himself to meet the gaze of the other elf. Despite his words - and the fact he hadn't acted hostile in the least - it was hard to not feel intimidated.

Atlas gave a hesitant head bob to the greeting and the name. He may have been raised in literal woods, but he knew that name. It helped that it wasn't usual. It also did nothing to ease his tension.

Still, he forced himself to keep moving, stopping only feet from Lycus.

My name's Atlas Forst. I met an elf earlier who suggested I speak with you. His tone was formal and reserved. At least he hadn't thrown a "sir" in yet.

"I suspect you are talking about Fabian."

He replied, there were so few Elves living here, it was a shame really, he would have preferred to see more of them, still, they were quite reserved creatures, timid for their well being.

He knew though that his presence here would draw in more Elves, they were safer when near an Elder.

"A pleasure to meet you Atlas and welcome to the coven."

He replied.

He relaxed a little at the mention of Fabian. That's him. He's very.. nice. The word didn't really do him justice, but it was the first he thought of.

He scratched at the cold ground with one hoof. Thank you for your kind welcome. Fabian also mentioned you may have a job or tasks for me in return for staying.

He nodded softly as the boy spoke.

"I may be able to find some work for you if you are interested in doing it, for the moment however I don't have any tasks that need completing.

Staying here is free and you are no way obliged to work in order to living in the mansion."
