Spooky Scary Skeletons [C]

"I really didn't do anything."

Maybe that was the secret with kids?

"Don't jinx it. The world can still implode yet." The night was still young. Plenty of time for him to accidentally fuck it up. "But thank you." He smiled up at Fleck, thankful that he thought he was doing well despite his anxiety.

"Anyone else important to meet?"

"Nah. The rest of them can come meet you when they feel like it. Takes the pressure off."

Chasing siblings down and overloading Dick with names and faces wouldn't do anything to help. They were better letting others come to them.

"C'mon, let's-" He was interrupted when a large shape landed on his shoulder. He jumped, and only held back from lashing out at the thing when he heard the familiar 'munch munch munch.'

Fleck's shoulders sagged as he relaxed. "Damn bird," he grunted light-heartedly.

It did take the pressure off him. It was already so much to take in.

When Fleck jumped he jumped. He took a quick step back, wine sloshing, to see what was wrong. His shoulders sagged when he recognised bird.

"Glad you didn't pull me down like I did," he laughed.

Dick turned to the bird with a smile.

"How are you?" He asked, raising a relaxed hand for the bird to inspect.

"Not all of us violently drag around our boyfriends," Fleck teased.

Munchies leaned forwards to nudge Dick's fingers with his beak, making the same kissing noises that he had made the last time they had met.

"Scare the shit out of me, but kiss up to Dick. Is that how it is, huh?" He reached a hand up to stroke Munchies' cheek gently with one finger.

Dick laughed softly as Munchies 'kissed' his finger.

"They obviously have good taste."

Dick lightly ran his finger down he bird's chest a couple of times before dropping it to take Fleck's hand.

"Well, I suppose bad taste is taste, too," Fleck chuckled, bumping Dick's hip with his own, and shooting the man a grin.

"C'mon, lets go see if there's anything interesting going on indoors."

There had to be something going on. They just had to find something to weasel in on.

"Oi!" He laughed, gently knocking Fleck's hip back.

"Sure thing. I have almost finished my wine."

He had been sipping it none stop since Fleck passed it to him.

While Fleck's family was lovely, he needed to be a least a little tipsy to be comfortable. One to one situations were easy. Group situations were another matter entirely.

The house was just as busy as they had left it, with fifty heroes and villains milling about.

Fleck nudged past a lycra-clad Harley Quinn and into the large kitchen area.

He grasped the arm of a Poison Ivy and pulled her away from a conversation with Martian Manhunter. "What's going on now, Chai?"

"I think movie nights started. Mama and Jay were heading to his room a couple of minutes ago."

Nerves bubbled up again as he entered the house. It was a lot more cramped with people milling about inside it.

When Fleck spoke Dick perked up at the mention of his sister. So she was the one who Fleck was doing a bust of?

From what he remembered of the bust the resemblance was striking. That was at a point when the bust was unfinished. Dick's lip's quirked as he stared, fixated on Chai. His heart swelled with pride for his boyfriend.

"Awesome. Think we'll catch them before they've finished arguing over what they're watching?"

Chai smirked. "Sure. Maybe if you get your tail in there, you might be able to pick the film for once. Though I'm not too sure how impressed they'll be with a kids film."

Fleck just grinned and give his sister the finger as he turned and led Dick down the hallway to Jay's room.

A film was already on when Fleck pushed open the door and led Dick to the couch. He dropped himself on the couch, stretching one leg out along the back of the couch and letting the other one spread so there was space for Dick to sit between them.

Jay was taking up a beanbag on the floor, and their mother was parked up next to the couch.

"What we watching?" Fleck quieried.

"Apocalypse Domani." It was his mother that answered.

"Gross."

Dick followed Fleck as he was lead into the familiar room where he changed only an hour ago.

He perched himself in between Fleck's legs. Leaning back on the couch and resting his hands on Fleck's knee. A lot more at ease than last time they watched a film together.

Although he wasn't quite ready to be spooned by Fleck in company. Let alone his own mother.

With a raised eyebrow he turned to Fleck.

"Apocalypse Domani?"

"It's a super old zombie film."

Fleck's mother snorted. "Old? It came out in the seventies."

Fleck made a vague gesture with his hand. "Exactly. Super old."

"And what does that make me?"

"Ancient."

Jay snicked, and their mother huffed, tossing a pillow from the edge of the couch at him. That made Fleck join his brother's laughter.

Dick chuckled at the antics between a mother and her sons.

"I'm going to agree with your Ma. The seventies is not old," he said over their laughter.

It did make him wonder. If Fleck thought his mother was ancient what would he think of him?

"Aww, come on, they were forty years ago." Fleck nudged Dick's back with his knee. "Two of our lifetimes. If that isn't old, I don't know what is."

"Oh, hush up, Hank. Quieten down so we can watch the film."

At his mothers order, he fell obediently silent. He reached up to set his hand over Dick's hand set on his knee.

"Two of our-" he caught himself. He almost forgot. Right now he was twenty one.

It was a little hard to believe that the seventies was four decades ago. So much has happened and changed and yet it still felt like last year.

When Fleck rested his hand on his he turned to give Fleck a quick soft smile. His attention was back on the opening credits - still unsure on what type of film was about to unfold.

The film was gruesome and gory.

Fleck cringed and flinched, and at one point actually covered his eyes to hide from the sight of men being pulled apart by zombies.

The film truly showed its day - but it didn't stop it from being gruesome and scary.

It didn't bother him too much - other then the jump scares. They Often resulted with squeezing Fleck's knee too hard or banging his leg. It was quickly followed by a hushed "sorry".

Dick winced a little as he watched men being tore apart. So this is what Fleck meant by gross.

His eye's flickered to Fleck and he burst out laughing.

"I don't think hiding behind your hands is going to do much."

"Shut upppp," he groaned, arm staying firmly over his eyes.

His legs moved, wrapping tightly around Dick and giving him a punishing little squeeze with his thighs.

He could pretend it would help.

He body shook as he placed a hand over his mouth.

Seeing Fleck this scared over a film was just... adorable. No other words to describe it. A fully grown man twice his size frighted over fictional zombies. Adorable.

He found himself snorting when Fleck squeezed him with his thighs.

"Come on your missing the best bit."

It really wasn't. It was probably the worst scene right now. It didn't bother him. Really, Dick had no care for horror. Not when it is about fictional beings.

"Mhmm," he grunted, completely unconvinced.

He'd seen this film plenty of times before. He knew which bits were the best bits and which weren't.

This certainly wasnt a good bit and he wasn't going to suffer through it.

"You carry on watching the bloodbath."

He wished he could take a photo right now.

"I thought we were watching this together?"

Glancing up he noticed Jay giving him a quick look and his laughter subsided. He almost forgot Jay and Fleck's mother where in the room. The last thing he wanted to do was get on their bad side by disturbing the film.

"Nope, fuck that. This film is gross. You watch, I'll sit here and whine."

Fleck didn't get on too well with horror films.

When Dick caught Jay's eye, the teen grinned and threw up a thumbs up for his brother's boyfriend.

He relaxed at the thumbs up. Good to know he wasn't being annoying. He gave an awkward thumbs up back.

"Would you like me to give you an audio description then? Right now someones intestines are being dragged across the floor- oh wait they just lost them. I don't think they will be needing those now."

Fleck cringed.

"No, don't, stop," he mumbled over the top of Dick's commentary.

The comment about losing the intestines was Fleck's breaking point. He pushed himself up and swung around in a surprisingly graceful movement so he was straddling Dick's lap.

He leaned forwards to press his lips firmly against Dick's, hunched over on his lap so he could actually reach them, to stop him from speaking any more.

He pulled back. "Will you please stop torturing me?"

Dick grunted as he found himself pressed against the arm of the chair. Thighs either side of his hips as Fleck straddled him. He was silenced by Fleck's lips on his.

Dick's shoulders stiffened. It took a second. Then his pale skin pinked.

As Fleck parted from him Dick's eye's wondered, not sure where to land. In the dark, everything was crystal clear. His eyes trailed down between them.

Everything was so tight. Too tight. Not a muscle hidden.

His hands were rested on Fleck's thighs and he couldn't bring himself to move them.

"Yeah!" He replied, voice high.
